  • the groove here is just spot-on. Love this song and the band is playin insanely tight!!

  • Watched this one in a theatre in the 70's. Bought a Les Paul Jr when the movie was over :)

  • Can someone tell me what DVD/show this is from? I'd like to get it. Thanks!

  • Bloody fantastic - isnt this what rock and roll is all about??

  • This is Rock And Roll.

  • This Rock And Roll.

  • Two of Britain's Masters of Chuck Berry's 'licks' at work together 1974 - 'must admit Ronnie excells himself on this one and Keith, subtle as ever, drawing on some of his early Stones recording style phrases - what a blend and an amazing concert - one of the most exciting I can remember.

  • Back when Rod Stewart knew what the fuck he was doing....

  • So...who's the drummer? And the dude in white pants (not Keith, not Ron, not Rod and certainly not Ian Mclagan) that's presumably riding the bass? This is a TREAT! LOVE IT! <3 Thanks for sharing!

  • @redwoodrebelgirl This is the Faces so the drummer is Kenney Jones and, because this is their last concert, Ronnie Lane had already left and the bass player is Tetsu Yamauchi (only guessing with the spelling of his surname).

Love this song, especially done by them.

  • @765tony rock around the clock by bill haley is considered by many to be the 1st r&r song. this is no nec my oppinion.

  • The keys player rocks.

  • I wish rod would go back to his roots and let it rip like this one more time instead of just being an old crooner.

  • omg what happened to keith? on this and the 69- 73 stones tours he was a BEAST

  • Great band, but who´s the soggy bottom boy in the yellow jump suit?

  • @ValdusGobben I believe that it is Rod Stewart

  • those were the days...rod before the ballerina phase and keef the human riff and the faces....fabulous

  • @765tony ....about £1700.....you can search here dv247.com

  • lawrencekane2000@yahoo.com

  • great little guitar but hard to find one that will stay in tune!

  • what an ASS!ª

  • He has quite the prominent bum doesn't he?

  • they got away with the fag look..

  • Is that Nicky Hopkins jamming on the keys?

  • @The1974MonteCarlo pretty sure its The Faces own Ian McLagan

  • @The1974MonteCarlo 100% that's Ian McLagan. Nicky Hopkins though, what a player.

  • The good ole English boys doing the ' Kings ' work : Chuck Berry !

  • テツ山内 英語でベース弾いてるゼ!!!

    かっこいい!

  • Amazing performance of this great song.

  • okay, its like 2 jackrabbits fuckin!!!!!! kh

  • one more thing. true greatness, true art? only lasts for a very short time. one needs to catch it when its available. keith is great here so is everyone playing in the band. if you wanted to try and explain real rock n roll? here it is in all it's decadent glory. love these cats! kh

  • the faces.wonder if they ever miss each other? these guys were so fuckin cool i can't fuckin stand it.listen to ians piano!!! they were only rivaled by the beatles and the stones. rod stewart never sounded better. totally on top of theyre game here. and god bless ronnie lane. best , kh

  • one of the nights when the faces were on. some nights they could suck so bad. however, when these guys were on? look the fuck out!!!!!! when they weren't drunk? they wrote the book ! kh

  • classic stuff

  • during the time with the faces was the only time can say rod stewart reaaly could rock. faces one of the greatest under appreciated backing band

  • move over chuck berry pure rock n roll

  • Rod did this song always well in the early eightees.

  • Rod Stewart and Steven Tyler = Mick Jaggers in training

  • Wished I'd said "primordial" and "distilled" rather than "pure" and "invented," but I'm no historian so no matter. Anyhow, IM's keyboards are great tho interesting to compare them to Johnny Johnson's on the Berry original(s). Kenny Jones does a stellar job of allowing KR to control the tempo from around 4:00-5:00min in. Transcendant. R 'n' R would never have been what it is w/o ENSEMBLE playing and/or players. Maybe that's partly why Punk and virtually everything thereafter suffered.

  • Can't recall a better "pure" Rock 'n' Roll number...If Berry "invented" it - and seems he more or less did - nothing short of phenomenal that two decades later Keith (especially) & Woodie were still "perfecting" the form. Wether he'd admit it or not, Chuck would be jealous. "Brilliant?" Yes. Utterly. ABSOLUTELY. I'd only add "Triumphant" and every other superlative I could think of. Anyhow, Rod Stewart certainly isn't Sam Cooke (his idol) or much less Little Richard, but not too terribly bad.

  • Amazing performance by Keith

  • Yes, it's Kenny...

  • Brilliant. that's all i am going to say.

  • is that kenny jones there on drums ??!

  • ROCKING RODERICK!!!!

  • Damn, the piano ROCKS! And Keith and Ron together?--priceless video.

They look like they're having the time of their lives! That is just GOOD MUSIC!

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • You summed it up perfectly, blu!

  • @blufrenchie That rockin' piano is played by Ian McLagan....possibly the greatest rock n'roll piano player of all times! Kenny Jones on drums; who joined the Who after Keith Moon died. In their prime, before Ronnie Lane (bass player) left....there simply was no better rock n' roll band, pound for pound....than Faces.

  • @swiggy58a LOVE the Faces. It's hard to understand why some bands break up or don't 'make' it. And today, it's almost impossible to break into the business...I should know.

    But...AGREED!

  • YES! Who else could wear that yellow outfit? LOVE YOU ROD!!!

  • Keith Richards for president

  • @getje

Keith Richards for President and Bill Wyman for Vice Prez.

  • @getje fuck yes...keith for pres

  • rod stewart does this song the best

  • Oh man that is beautiful!

  • YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !

  • Hooray!!!!!!!! Chuck Berry would be proud!

  • Great!!!! Thanks For Sending It To Me!!!!

  • You sure can hear that Keith sound!

  • Can't Wait for The Faces Tour!Wish Keith could join

    Them....

    This sounds Awesome!

  • Keith's guitar playing is amazing! What kind of guitar is that? The distortion is so bad ass.

  • It is a Gibson Les Paul Junior.....It has a single P90 pickup....Mean n' Bad

  • double cut away Gibson Les Paul Junior

  • He should´ve just that guitar more...

  • Mac replaced someone else in the Small Faces, which means that Kenney is the only member in 1974 who was in the Faces from the start. That solo from Ron is great

  • que colita rod!!

    ROCK AND ROLL!!!

  • Ian Mclagan is the absolute best rock and roll

    keyboard player.

  • mick jagger better be glad ROCKING ROD STEWART

didn`t take the stones gig from him!

  • Stew deserves major credit, if only

for his stint with Jeff, but time

has'nt been kind to his dress sense

    and stage presence x€:¬]

  • with the jeff beck group and the faces he was king shit! but then he took a monster nose dive and is now a major knobshiner althought his misses is quite hot

  • qermv ferty fom ;p
