I am so amazed to find this video. I'm one of the riders (4th one over the little jump at 1min 53sec). Man, what memories!! Thanks so much for posting it. Sid Leslie :-)
@jayelljim ...you are more than welcome and congratulations for passing 'P' Company...proving that you had guts as well as intelligence. It was a priveledge to be involved with your training.
...Thanks for that, his father was my CSM during my time with A Coy and was a good man, I had a lot of time and respect for him, he actually inspired me to do P Company later in my career as I beleive he served with the Pathfinders. Im pleased to hear his son done well. Thanks for the info and for sharing the video.
This was members of the Motor Cycle Club, it was ran by the CSM of A Coy but his name escapes me, I know his young son (who you can make out by his size on the bike) is in the video and so is my mate Ray Gibson. I remember watching this display...brought back some memories !
@jayelljim ...the young lad was was Robert Hamilton who went on to win several schoolboy motocross championships. His very proud Dad is the commentator.
Happy that you spotted this... It was as you say an interesting place to be especially as a member of permanent staff. You youngsters had it really tough but coped with the training extremely well in my opinion. Take care.
I was at this college on this date and remember it, I was a Junior Soldier with the RAMC sharing barracks where 90% are not your regiment was interesting.
