  • I wore out my casette of this song driving up to my work site in N Manitoba in the 80s, may have had a few beer on the way there and a tear in my eye :)

  • one of the greatest songs of all time. Best one-hit-wonders of the 80's!

  • Damn. I totally forgot about this song. Cool.

  • back in my teen angst days I wrote these guys a letter...and I actually got a hand written letter back from Brent...still have it...very cool..the ONLY time a band member had written me back personally...very very cool...

  • I really like this song.

  • A beautiful song and video that have stood the test of time.

  • Yup, Larry is a HS teacher working at McClatchy HS, teaching all the youngsters English. He's a great guy, too. Humble, and just one heckuva a bass player. If you ever want to come say hi to him, he plays on Sundays at Metro Calvary in Roseville, CA. Services are at 9:00 and 11:15.

  • my current english teacher, Mr. Tagg, was the bass player

  • I saw this video twice on MTV and heard it once on the radio, why didn't it get more play? I think it's a real good song.

  • @grapej512 It is a good song. I had forgotten about it from back in the day but had discovered it by accident thanks to youtube and remembered it. I think there was a glut of music at this time and many artists were fighting for airplay on radio and video music channels.

  • Aww Mr. Tagg(: BEST English Teacher EVER :D Lmao.

  • nice work, lyrical, great string backing, really beautifully interpreted by mr. bourgeois.

  • my teacher is Mr. Tagg, the guitarist...

  • @1nobodynos Larry Tagg was the bassist, actually. Tell him I enjoyed his book about Abe Lincoln.

  • One of the great lost songs of the 80's.

  • well, i didn't get ALL the vagina...but i can't blame the song... i guess i'm just hideous, or heinous, (wah)...

  • This was a nice album....still is in 2011!!!

  • i learned this song...tonight i will play it at my local bar, and get ALL of the vagina

  • when a song this good doesn't hit top ten, re-release until everbody hears it. not enough rotation, fewer sales. and look what's selling... it's criminal

  • tagg is a teacher at my school!!

  • Oh yeah, I remember this song, not bad, not bad at all. Surprised it didnt do better.

  • Going through a painful break-up when this song came out...helped me get through it. Never forget this song. Fall of 1987. Turning point of my life.

  • one of the best songs ive ever heard

  • Wonderful. So Beatles-esque, which I normally don't care for, but in this case I don't mind at all...

  • vevo needs to die.

  • BT hit #38 in Billboard, 12-5-87. God bless ya, brother Brent Bourgeois. Have a great weekend! Thanx, VEVO, for postin' it.

  • These guys didnt get enough credit...way too under the radar...I always thought they were simply too mature

  • This song is perfect....and timeless....

  • I am getting goose bumps...It is perfect!

  • HEY MR. TAGG I SAW YOU ON A MUSIC VIDEO. XD oh yeah he is a teacher now

  • i have this single record.(from japan=nippon)

  • Very Beatlesque treatment, from the cello-dominated strings to the John-and-Paul two-part harmonies, right down to the tambourine. Track was produced by Todd Rundgren. I wonder how much of the input was his and how much came from the band. This is still one of my favorite songs, and a staple of my set list whenever I do an open mic night.

  • Another great band from the late 80's.

  • @ VEVO: Please activate the option for mobile phones, so that this video is also viewable on android mobile phones and especially on android tablet PCs!

  • Not as under-rated as you might think. Lyle Workman has continued to be a prestigious artist to the musicians that appreciate him. If you had to study, you'd be years behind this virtuous person.

I'm just grateful he made the push to get his music to the masses. He could have remained a silent genius like many guitarists do.

  • Killer video.. I agree Timeless

  • GAwd.....what a song. brings back all the sadness and trivial angst of my youth, but is beautiful and remarkable all these years later....thank you!

  • This sounds like Warrant's - I Saw Red

  • I remember being in JR High when they came out....man they were good I loved them! Don't Tread on Me was great too.....thanks for posting... IDK why I decided to look them up LOL

  • good tune beatlesy feeling

  • Underrated but an overall GREAT SONG!

  • I love this song. I remember having such high hopes from this debut album, but the rest of it was not only nothing like this song, it basically (to put it bluntly) sucked. It was like airy Pop-Jazz or some odd combo like that. One of the few CD's I've ever thrown away, once I ripped this song to my hard drive. I Hope Mr. Tagg is a better drama coach than songwriter!

  • @flafferty61 obviously everyone else thought the same, which is probably why their popularity didn't outlast this song. I hate that the lead singles on an album are rarely indicative of the rest of an album.

  • Mr. Tagg was my drama coach in my high school play.... Amazing how he can go from a band to English/Drama teacher in high school.

  • @InferiSirius It Just goes to show you; Those who can't go solo, teach.

  • I gotta dig up my old cassettes with Brent Bourgeois & Charlie Peacock playing their last concert together in the mid '80s.

They had some great sounds back then, too.

See, she's in the middle of a - big time operation...

  • This was always a great song.

  • good ol music. . .

  • great song !!!!

  • Takes me back, cant believe no one has tried to remake it, so ahead of their time

  • brilliant tune, i bought it then and still luv it

  • @1488burnjews i love how ur angry haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa faggot ur mom sucks my dick

  • Sure seems to be lots of tough people on here. Nice song though

  • Where are they now?

  • @pinkandjefflynne I played music with their bass player last night. He's a teacher and just released a book on Abraham Lincoln. Larry Tagg is the man!

  • @plantoramble fucking awesome, in other words you are both shelf stackers in Tesco?

  • @pinkandjefflynne No. Like I said, he's a teacher and an author. I am a journalist. No Tesco for either of us.

  • @plantoramble No way...in your mind he is an imaginary friend, you are working as a shelf stacker in Tesco or Primark earning £3.59 per hour and this is your sexual fantasy

  • @pinkandjefflynne Brent Bourgeois is a worship leader in a church in Sacramento

  • @HighMindedLunacy Thanks for the info. So he went from the UK to the USA and in daily contact with the divine one, strange how life deals its hand. Wonder how it came to that?

  • @pinkandjefflynne Brent went solo a couple of years after this, and came out with three albums, the last of which was in the late 90's. Larry I have no idea. LOL

  • @pinkandjefflynne lead singer Brent is a worship leader at a church in Sacramento. Larry (bass) plays in a worship band at Metro Calvary in Roseville, CA. Mike Urbano (drums) played with Smashmouth. Lyle Workman (guitar) does movie scores, Scott Moon (keyboards) is a session musician in Los Angeles.

  • @JosephJGomez Larry is a teacher at my old HS here in Sacramento. :)

  • @pinkandjefflynne theyre in elk grove. i know the singer:)

  • @pinkandjefflynne Tagg is my language arts teacher o-o

  • @pinkandjefflynne Well Mr. Tagg, the Tagg part, is my Literature teacher

  • @pinkandjefflynne i know you posted this forever ago haha but you deserve an anwser. But uhm yeah They broke up. Some of them still talk though.(:

  • @royalsallstars1 From the other email received, rumour has it they are teachers but I truly believe they are frying burgers?

  • @pinkandjefflynne Larry Tagg is actually a teacher, an english teacher acutally in Sacramento, the rest I'm not sure.

  • @royalsallstars1 Brent Bourgeois is still the music industry. He has been a lyricist on many of Michael W. Smith's songs, including one of his bigger CCM hits, "Live The Life"

  • @pinkandjefflynne The guitarist, Larry Tagg, is a teacher at my high school, Mcclatchy High in Sacramento

  • mathboy:i like it when i fart at 12 it gives me the chills....but i had to let it goooooooo.. but yessenias nose dont mind at all....its from goose meat and coriander buds.... i just burped too it stinks like kristis crotch....is yessenias asshole sharing the night with denisses tongue?

  • @numase1 ..wow..so matty was right...all you do is talk about me... seems like I really got on your nerves... you're pitiful... get a life, dude... seriously

  • @niceyessenia i just farted from steak and potato wedges.....you and denisse can smell it

  • @numase1 Numase and Yessenia...you are both foolish goons worthy of punishment by Gorgoroth and Gorthaur on the Great Day

  • @williwo shut up faggot

  • @numase1 Oooooooohhhh....you called me a Faggot. Thats hate Speech you know. I could sue your rotten ass.....but I shall not. Gorgoroth shall have you for his own.

  • @numase1 oh and you can smell your own farts you Jabroni

  • @numase1 I wouldnt try that...you would likely get hurt in the process ya crazy cunt. But ya seem pretty cool....almost as cool as me.......but ya still a Jabroni

  • @numase1 Well first of all talking smack behind a keyboard is something a REAL FAGGOT would do. You dont know me now do ya PUNK? I could be a BLACK BELT for all you know and could break your Goddamn legs FOR ALL YOU KNOW. I came on here just to have a little fun and bulllshit around. This is Youtube for God's sake. I wasnt meant to be taken seriously. But u made a complete ASS out of yourself and insulted me personally u FAGGOT CUNT. So go Fuck Yourself. Thats all I have to say

  • @numase1 You made this personal first Punk....again you assume too much. Now you're threatening with guns and shit you crazy ass motherfucker. U need to check into a psych ward or something.....fuckin nutjob. this conversation is over

  • I really like this song, but I'm confused as to why it was a suggestion from my watching Got It Goin' On by Ed O.G. & Da Bulldogs.

  • Loved it, bought it!

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember when people thought this to be a lost beatles tune lol

  • I remember hearing this song on the radio whilst coming home from a party and I had to buy it. It's a gorgeous song.

  • Great song.Talk about a Beatles influence.Christ I used to have this on a 45.

  • I would like to see/know the woman who the subject and reason this great song was written. excellent song.

  • I don't know about the video part, which is brilliant, but the music was produced by none other than Todd Rundgren.

  • @rdanlord The music video was directed by David Fincher.

  • There's a timelessness to this song, and especially the video. The images and special effects could be current; I think I could convince others that this is brand new if they'd never heard the song before. Timeless, classy, simple, cool...thanks for this song!

  • @paxpaul Sacramento CA, but the band broke up long ago.

  • @paxpaul EXACTLY what I was thinking!

  • @paxpaul Ditto!! I thought the same!! I even thought was a remade at the beginning :)

  • Htl #5 AC, #8 rock, #38 pop in Billboard. God bless you, brother Brent!

  • That's one of the most beautiful songs from the 80's. The song made it the US Top 40, peak at # 38 late in 1987.

Thank you VEVO for posting in H.Q.

  • @Abbot63 . Agree with you, thanks for posting this pearl in H.Q.

  • this song only got to #38? that is an OUTRAGE!!!

  • Man in the mirror anyone? (I know it's an MJ song)

    Cool song.

  • This is a kshe classic.

  • What a perfect little song...

  • Speak up!!! I don`t mind! Crush him with words!

  • Beautiful song.....

  • Very classy video of a classy performance of a classy song. I bought this song when it originally came out, and I still love it.

  • One of my favorite and most amazing bands of the 80's...this song is indeed...sublime!
