Rome and England were the bitterest of enemies. Protestant England was taking the gospel to the world through her rising empire and Rome was not about to let that happen. @Jesuitfinder I'm not sure the history bears out the teleological significance you attach to the actions of Guy Fawkes and his conspirators, links them to Rome herself, or to Alex Jones. I think that sort of speculative polemic may be more appropriate, at any rate, beneath a video in which the Church has fired the first salvo, so to speak, and not under a video of Carthusian chant.
