Was ist da lustig dran, bitte? Kinder haben dort nix verloren, schon gar nicht an einem Dirigentenpult. Mir tut das Orchester leid, das sich für so einen Schmarrn hergeben muss.
"Mark Elder asked the audience if any of the children present in the hall wanted to conduct the Berliner Philharmoniker. And this courageous kid just came forward."
Why my commentary is by the Berliner Philaharmoniker now? o.o
@Yyookkyy Watch the concert and you will see that MArk asked the entire concert hall if any children would like to conduct. This boy, Niklaus, just step foward. :)

The cute little girl in the back seems to do a much better job... but what's her part in the orchestra? Anyway, wonderful! This just made my day, and I'll go watch the entire performance as soon as I find the time. Thanks for the upload. BP rock! :-)

Even though he got everything wrong, but hey, props to the kid for the courage. This is the Berlin Philharmonic we're talking about.

tartinitrumpet 2 months ago
@tartinitrumpet I see now it is the middle part of the hexenritt.
tartinitrumpet 2 months ago
@tartinitrumpet It is the Hexenritt (witches' ride) from Engelbert Humperdinck's opera "Hansel and Gretel".

The intro of this video, does sound like a section from Mahler No.1 Movement 3 doesn't it ?
teddyxiao 2 months ago
@teddyxiao Sounds more like movement 2 to me (movement 3 is the Frère Jacques movement).

@bollingmr It's quite normal to see music quotations though, And that's the wonder of it :)

I always dreamed of conducting the Berlin Philharmonic in a Von Karjan style of conducting.
