Okay, First off, allow me to say that Starship Troopers 2 is an awesome movie on it's own, do not compare it to ST1 or the original book, because this movie is just based on the universe, nothing but that. ST3 on the other hand, is one huge pile of crap, they ruined the federation and destroyed Rico :/
@inzane456 especially the weapons. look like they can punch a huge hole in the enemy but they sucked balls. i bet the morita rifle that we saw in the first one was 2000000000 times better then the new weapons
3: B+. In any full-scale war, you can expect, in some cases, that a society will impose martial law on its citizens, even to the point where dissent is not tolerated. For the first time in this saga, they show you, hard-core, the martial-law aspect of the Federation at war. Not only that, they also show you, once again, how the enemy can defeat its adversary indirectly; in this case, how the smart bugs twisted the mind of the man at the very top (Sky Marshal Anoke).
1: A. Maybe I didn't get the slapstick elements in this movie, but they made sure you knew this was a military combat movie, in more ways than one; infantry, fleet, hierarchy and even the weapons.
2: B. The mystery element was fine, but they could have done better with the horror element. Didn't like the fact that they confined most of the movie to one facility (it had 'Alien'/'Alien 3' written all over it), but for the desired effect, they had to.
1: B-. More emphasis on the sci-fi element than the military.
2: A+, both the opening and closing themes. This is hard military sci-fi (as opposed to 'Trek'), and the themes let you know that there's a heavily military element to the entire 'Troopers' saga.
3: B+. It ain't Staff Sgt. Barry Sadler's "Ballad of the Green Beret", but obviously it fits as an advertisement for the movie itself and the fictional military organization it represents.
ST1: Great. Classic.
ST2: a Solid moviet.
ST3: Religious bullshit. a disgrace to the series.

ST2: Average at best.
ST3: A lot of fun. A lot better than 2. Not as good as 1.
