  • that final battle was played so much better by huk. He had the better units, better micro, better upgrades they were even very close in size. What am i missing here? Why did Terran tier 1 units win against huks upgraded, tier 3 units?

  • @s490294 All 3 races have energy research for their caster units to make them able to cast as soon as they are created: Terran - Moebius Reactor; Protoss - Amulet; Zerg - Pathogen Glands.

    So your argument is that Protoss shouldn't have warpgate research? Good one!

  • To all those using the "Unit(s)" argument - I left the 's' off the end in unit, also it's an aoe damage-over-time that you can micro out of.

    Ghosts, on the other hand, with mobious reactor can EMP immediately and it's instant cast making it virtually unavoidable. So what people are actually saying is that terran players shouldn't have to micro properly or use such a variety as toss to win.

  • blizzard taking away amulet is just completely troll, not what i expect from blizzard. You take away a RESEARCH- meant to be an advantage investment. They also take away warp-in templar storms, which I see top tier players respond quickly to all the time.

    Taking away a viable strategy and obvious race attribute(the warp in) is NOT balance.

  • @CIoudFire even when a bunch of marauders walked straight into 3 storms and still being alive! blizzard has more terran players. that's the only reason for they doing that. Concussive shells are so OP in the early game but they want to cut off an important upgrade (and costly) from a tier 3 unit!

  • @CIoudFire It's one of those abilities that are very hard to balance among the different leagues. A master/diamond league player might be able to dodge the storm, but in the levels below it will cause massive destruction.

  • Huk engaged wrongly. Still, the fact that huk had his expansion up way longer, had his third on the gold running for enough time to more than pay for itself, had twice the worker count but still was unable to macro up a larger force shows the stupid strength of mules.

  • Best game Iv'e seen yet. Great unit control, Alive showing you don't need to expand everywhere to have a good army, just good management.

    Blizzard needs to give the ghost's mobile nuke launcher and leave storm alone.

Terran high tier units are just alot worse than toss thats why we have to play with lower tiers more. Yet we still have to get the buildings for higher tier units so we invest just as much if not more in tech as terran.

    Also thors get owned by zealots so toss tier 1 > terran tier 3 ?

  • I agree that MMM is too cost effective. However, in this game. it was simply perfect timing push. If terran attacked early, he would be melt down by colossi due to lack of Vikings. If he attacked late, 2-2 upgraded + more HTs are going to melt the ball. What you want? hellions/Thors are junks against Protoss. Siege tank is okay but not really good against protoss ball. Banshees are demolished by stalkers. What should terran do? BCs??? Turtling?

But supply blocking + little more higher lose? It was dead even. Yes, because mule, terran can do this. however you need to consider if same # of supply were broken, terran need to pull 6,7 scvs off from mineral line. Have I played starcraft?   • I agree some units in Terrans are OPs. marauders and mules, maybe vikings. Compared to Zealot and Stalkers, marauders are too strong. I understand that marauder is counter to Stalkers, but Zealot cannot kill marauders so that's pretty sucks. HOWEVER, force field is also damn OPs. Early Protoss can push against terran with mass sentries. It is also suck. Yes, micro intensive, but still. No matter what race you are, Force field is the superOPs. Nerf Terran? nerf sentry for sure.

  • @WaitingMove But I really like how the maurader doesn't need to shoot air since he has his 50 mineral buddy to do that for him, and he does such a good job that you can't go air. And why would you need blink when stim is about 4 times as good?

    1. cost less

    2. build faster

    3. twice the damage output

    4. they actually run faster than blink stalkers if they keep up

    And ofcourse you need to be able to warp them in anywhere since they die so fast you need to replenish instantly

    I agree if you compare stalkers vs. marauder alone marauder easily win.

    However, you need to count Sentries for SURE.

    Sentries have lower dps compared to even marines.. BUT, their forcefield are soo good.

    Stalkers have higher range, so if you cut the terran army in half, all of your sentries can attack, but

    half of terran army cannot fight. it is reason why stalker can fight against cost-effective roach.

  • @MwFreezd MMM + Vikings + Ghost. That's one of the best compositions you can get from biotech tree. Although 2 ghosts seem done nothing, but actually they died by feedback which could be one more psi storm. At the important moment, there was only enough mana for 1 psi storm. Also, it was 1-1 not 2:2 at the battle. 1-1 upgrade lead is still decent but 2000 mineral lead army should make it up since that upgrade cost is 200ish. If the push was 1 min late, terran will be demolished.

  • @MwFreezd Alright, listen kiddo. The terran had ton of unit composition as well. MMM + Vikings + Ghosts. Thats 5 different units. The toss had Stalker/Zealot/Sentries + Colossus + High Templar. That's fucking 5. If you can't count you shouldn't be playing this game. Also, psi storm does not get affected by fucking upgrades. They always deal 80 damage. That's why it doesn't matter if your high templar is upgraded. Also, Protoss got a fucking zealot charge buff. You can counter mauraders now.

  • @TheUmezega Bullshit, how do you expect to get more ht at this time ?!!! He had 4 colosus and few ht + upgreads + forcefields + zealots and stalkers. Terran has vikings vs colosi and marouders vs everything else, ghost got feedbacked in the main fight. This game was fucking bullshit... In sc:bw storm was way more powerfull and was stealing 120 hp in shorter time... No one complained. Marouders dont even need to doge the storm because u need 2 storms to kill a marouder... BULLSHIT !!!!!!!!

  • @siden313 At SC:BW, siege tank was WAAAYYY stronger than SC2. 70 base damage in siege mode. now? it is 35 + 15 armored. Also, although number of range is still high for siege tank, in SC:BW, the feeling range of siege tank is simply too dominating, so slow push was way hard to stop.

    The biggest different in SC:BW for storm is if you cast psi storm with multiple HTs, they all cast multiple psi storms on same spot, which is wasting mana. MUCH harder to cast psi storm like SC2.

  • @MwFreezd What? The "It's just MMM" fallacy is getting old. Alive attacked with marauders, marines, medivacs, vikings and ghosts. Huk defended with High templars, stalkers, zealots and and colossus. Alive had better counter-units and the biggest and most diverse army. Huk would have won if he focused on shooting down those vikings, and had added some immortals to his army. Upgrades aren't silver bullets.

  • @Madsy9 Plus alive had a better concave (more units attacking) for the big fight. Not sure why Huk didn't fedback the medivacs, his storms and shield seemd a bit off in this game, could have feedbacked all the low hp medivacs.

    The reason why MMM won this time is because Alive has INSANE micro and Huk's force fields didn't really split Alive's army. If this was a non-pro game and you saw the same unit composition, then the Terran would have lost easily. The ONLY way Terran can even think of surviving against a Toss is if they do exactly what we saw here: INSANE micro + constant harass. You won't find Diamond players that can do that and I doubt there are that many Master level players that can too.

  • @MwFreezd Toss only had 1/0/1. Plus if you paid attention you would have seen that Toss had had about half the army that the Terrain had. I'm not saying that Terrain aren't OP, but it had nothing to do with this game or that last battle.

  • I think Huk may have needed more immortals to deal with all Marauders, Psi Storm should have been enough, he could have used the extra gas and mineral investment for more units instead of splitting his skill tree /2cents

  • In my opinion Archons should not be slowed down by Marauders...If you think about it, it is a paradox...Archon is a combination of two high templaras, and thus it should be counted as massive unit.
