  • Standard leg lifts work your main abs. For a better (lower ab) exercise, bring ur legs up about a quarter of the way and point your toes out. I started doing 10's for 10 songs. 10 big, 10 little, 10 songs. =]! My friend was doing 60's..

  • I do a lot of abs on the machines at the club but I still do these as part of my workout. I can do a lot of them and they are very easy for me. Using a variety of machines and doing things without machines is the best way to get a total ab workout.

  • What is with these videos showing only one lift per video. I see why they got over 100,000 videos. AB lifts are for strength and looks. In order to lose fat you need a total body workout preferably with weights and agility exercises. But what do I know?

I've done 40 a day for a week now and already lost 8 pounds and look ALOT slimmer , I also do 100 jumping jacks , 90 crunches , 80 squats , 70 miututes of doing something athletic , 60 more jumping jacks , 50 more crunches , 40 legifts .. , 30 more squats , 20 pushups , and 10 minutes of dancing or something else athletic , Try it :D

  • @scruggscorp Sorry for such a late reply. Yes I believe this is normal, especially if your abdominal muscles aren't very strong. It's just the muscle working hard :)

  • these work, but you will feel them super tired after about 200 if you're just starting out

  • @seekdamnation if you are doing 200 reps of any exercise then you need to increase resistance. 8-12 reps is the ideal...

  • do this same exercise but have your partner throw your feet down towards the ground. your job is to stop them from hitting right above the ground. It's the same concept but better results

  • one Great workout for upper abs is one that I use frequently, it works. You take two of 45-50 dumbbells or anything heavy you can slide your feet under. Take 1 mid size dumb (Im 190lbs and use 35lbs). lean back like your doing situps half way. While holding the dumb a little away from lower chest, then begin shifting the weight from side to side. I do like a boat rowing motion with it to work the sides more. It'll start to burn in a matter of seconds if you do it well. careful of back injury.

  • @lokrenzo true thats why you should NOT do ab workouts when you have a stomach so that it dosent become bigger it made me look fat but when i tryed cardio i found nice muscles under my previous fat but i work hard to stay like this i mean just dont workout for a month and you'll get a little fat

  • First, exhale and lift ur lefs, then hold ur breath for 5 minutes. After your face turns a nice shade of blue inhale then hold for 6 mintues.

  • stretch more. If you have a clicking hip or knee, there isn't usually much you can do about it.

    If it hurts when they crack, see a physical therapist.

  • no. reverse crunches are where you actually lift your whole body up. not just the legs.

  • This isn't an abdominal exercise, it's a hip flexor exercise that requires the abs to contract isometrically. The abs do now lifting-the hips would have to move for that to be the case.

  • try holding your feet 6 inches high for a minute- i can hold it for (the most i know) 4 minutes

  • We used to have to do these in dancing. It doesn't do a thing for me if my legs aren't straight. But once I am a bit tired, it is hard to keep my legs straight cos it hurts. Make sure you go to 90 degrees too.

  • im 14 and can do like a bazillion of these. ( i do a lot at dance) but i'm not fond of the way she teaches them in this video.

    the way that she teaches them really works at your hip flexors before it works out your abs which can be annoying sometimes. i like to do them so you start with them on the floor and then lift them up 6 inches. hold for a few secs. then lift them up another 6 inches. then lower them right above the floor (don't touch) and repeat. just a suggestion though.

  • You can do an isometric where you just hold your legs up 12 inches off the floor for as long as you can. You are very tough if you can stand it over 3 minutes or so. Need to keep your lower back sucked down tight to the mat to avoid back strain. If you can do it over 3 minutes, post a video!

  • I don't know whether she could do 165 non stop, but I bet she could come close! I saw a report of a girl who held the lower position for 8 minutes! Thats serious ab endurance!

  • That hardly works out your abs, its a hip flexor exercise. The only reason you feel it in your abs is because they are trying to stabilize your body.

  • Do what she's doing then when you hold your legs up, lift up your pelvis, then lower.

    ps Do them slow, to utilize all muscles. Yes you do a smaller amount at a time. 70 is crazy. You actually only need to work your abs 10-15 mins a day 3-4 x's a week. Other than that you'll stop progressing! Remember to breathe!!

  • haha I'm not sure always had good abdominal strength I guess...been doing abs since 6th grade. Believe me I'm tired when I get to 100 but I have enough juice and motivation to push out the next 65...I'll post a video of me doing 200 at the end of this summer, currently going through hip flexor tendonitis though.

  • just means hip flexors have been overused and need to take it easy for a while. I doubt it was from the leg lifts, though doing the set of 165 may have contributed. You have nothing to worry about, this is a good exercise just don't go "to failure" very often.

  • hanging ones are WAY tougher...those work your forearms too I like those more personally.
