  • The music at the beginning of this part sounds like John Adams.

  • He should have teamed up with Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace. CAD/CAM in the 19th century!

  • Rifling down a barrel was first used in the American Civil war, 1860

  • @MrPercyboy Tell Mr Baker that....he designed one in 1799 which the Rifles used in the Peninsula.

  • @MrPercyboy If the technology was first invented around that time there is no way it would have been used in the civil war.

  • rifling down a gun barrel is a bit much, that dates back to the 17th century

  • amazing engineering; just astounding

  • whats the tune called at 4:54 pls

  • "designed by a Victorian bloke.....in a tall hat" surely that sums it up quite nicely. It seems to me that mr. Brunel did indeed not only design much of what we consider modern, I find it plausible that his very approach to engineering questions made him one of the first truly "modern" visionaries. Notwithstanding the achievements by many others, mr. Brunel's works have this rather extraordinary vision of a better world build into them ages before that world came to be.

  • Great help. thanks loads x :)
