I disagree. The biggest issue IMO is public ignorance and denial.

its quite sad i was born in 1990 and me and my generation was spoiled heavily buy wonderous technology powered buy cheap energy. things will get very interesting when pressing a button or stepping on a pedal becomes just that. my fear is that the concousness of my generation will become confused and rebelious rather than open minded and problem solvingthinkingidonknowtheword

The peak oil and general resource crisis ahead will force us to change the very foundations of society, its fabrik. To live in a world without classic economic growth and overconsumption will be unbearable for most people but in the first decade of petrocollapse the problems of how to handle the die off of population will distract from this question. I think the lifestyles of Greek philosophers like Diogenes could serve as an example for intelligent post peak oil living.
