  • Aslak is a real master of the Kantele

    this song is mesmerizing

  • where can u get the agalloch/nest split??????

  • This song is a masterpiece. For the last month, every night, I play this in loop and dose away. Pure bliss, Beautiful kantele, guitar and vocals. Wish I could just watch Agalloch/Nest make their music for a living.

  • Omg I was sooo glad and happy when i found this song. Masterpiece!

  • IMO the lyrics are about growing up and forgetting the wonder and innocence of childhood. Beautiful song... makes smile at the memories but at the same time weep for the loss...

  • @reignofthehammer I don't agree , I think the song is too bring you memories about your childhood and not forget it. It is also to make you think that there are no great woods anymore, like the ones that existed when you were a children and were you used to play.

  • @reignofthehammer These lyrics are very symbolic, and I mostly agree with your interpretation; although IMO they have much more woeful meaning. That atmospheric masterpiece doesn't make me smile - it puts me into blissfully bittersweet grief instead, and makes me long for good old times. I have to say that this is the most nostalgic song I've ever heard.

  • love this song...

  • love this song...

  • Makes me weep...

  • WoW, I'm in the middle of a pine tree forest :O

  • Amazing, really.

  • beautiful!

  • amazing...That's my favourite song of Agalloch

  • Once we played in this forest in the shade of the tall trees

at the dawn of this particular time.

But many an aeon has passed since and many a fate has changed.

...And our great woods died. No new seeds have been planted for ages

And those that were have been torn out from the soil.

  • The name of this song, alone, struck me into a state of deep thought. Sincere and beautiful. Hail Nest!

  • I say they get together and make a neofolk/ambient group

  • my funeral song!!! very great song

  • \m/O.o\m/

  • The first time I heard this song I was just like "WOW"!

  • Masterpiece!

btw. does anyone have the lyrics?

  • Beautiful song...

  • This is probably the best atmospheric song I ever heard.

  • tthis is a powerful song

  • Oh, I was misinformed, my fault.Sorry

    I read the information wrong.

  • I LOVE the pan pipes... do Nest use them in any other songs or is it just this one? I must get this...

After checking: Damn... limited edition :-(

  • Live long, gods of Europe!

  • Well spoken.

  • It is up to us to make sure that they live on. For they live inside us. Inside our folk-spirit. Let's not dissapoint them... Let's make this new millenium the transition to the old gods again!

  • @galen365

    thank you ;)

  • @galen365 ressurection of pagan europe!

  • This is.. phenomenal. It's like listening to a much more soften Agalloch. Amazing, also it reminds me of Twilight is my robe from Opeth. Great stuff!!

  • He was a vocalist in Nest for a brief period, then later he formed Agalloch and has done some guest vocals on Nest's later cds.

  • Yea, i know that, but i wasen't sure about the members history before Agalloch. I checked it up later today, and can now agree with you that they haven't had any cooperation together with Nest.

  • @KJELLofHELL

incorrect, not only was "wolves of timberline" split released with nest, this is clearly haughm on vocals. from what i understand it's also him on guitar. the two current members of nest are finnish, but haughm had his hand in this song, thats a fact

  • I think that the vocals are magnificent, it's a huge part of the song. But that's my opinion.

  • @KJELLofHELL I agree the vocals are like my favorite part of this song

  • Nest are so awesome...

But I'm confused because there are 2 or more bands around called Nest...

But I guess there are just 2 from finland- one is completely instrumental and the other (this one here) includes vocals... am I right?

  • Indeed.

Hm, well as far as i know there's just this band named Nest. Formed in Riihimäki, Finland. And they use vocals in their songs. But they also have songs that are instrumental.

This is the only Nest i know about, if that is any help for you. :)

  • John Haughm of Agalloch used to be in Nest prior to forming Agalloch with old band mates from other bands :D

  • somebody could tell me what says this song? I only speak spanish and a little of english, and this song is one of my favorites, but I can understand everything... PLEASE!!!!

  • Is it the lyrics that you want too get?

  • This song is so calming.. I like it

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

  • This is the first time I have heard anything like this music. It's actually quite good.

  • Ah I love this song so much - Nest are amazing =)

  • Beautiful...

  • I love this song ^^

  • Me too, I love the singers voice, it's so athmospheric.

  • It's a beautiful song =)
