I bought a nylon string guitar there a few months before I made this doc which cost me about $200 with a hard case and over a year later it's still plays and sounds great. Try getting a quality instrument for that price in Europe or the U.S.! I know several people who have bought guitars there and theyve had no problem either. Maybe you were just unlucky.
@SGMPHUKET He's not unlucky. -There is a saying in the Philippines, When they see an american, They don't see an American, they see AMERICAN DOLLARS. This happens all the time in the Philippines.
They "Claim" that you can buy, and I quote: "High quality guitars at incredibly low prices"... When Philippinos BAIT Americans with those kind of lies then to reach for their wallets, THEY BRING SHAME to the Philippines for their greed, and HONEST Phillipinos are given a bad image.
I CAUTION FOREIGNERS to NOT go to Allegre Guitar Factory:
I went here to purchase a flamenco guitar. The salesman wanted me to give him the equivelant of $1200 for the guitar. I wouldn't mind so much, if he hadn't offered the SAME GUITAR for my Philippine friend for $300.
I am searching for all the YouTube videos of this place to warn foreigners TO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM Allegra Guitar factory, because they will get robbed there. There are more guitar stores with HONEST prices to shop at.
@powerrangersr If you've been to the factory, you'll notice that they keep their guitars in the humidity, not climate controlled room... THE WORST thing you could do for a guitar. Humidity destroys the quality of guitars and lessens their lifespan.
I was at Allegre Guitar Factory about a year ago. They were lying to me, saying that humidity is "good" for the guitar. I guess trying to make a marked up sale because I don't live in the Philippines. I don't do business with dishonest salesmen
@powerrangersr Uh, are you sure about that? Because EVERY high quality guitar I purchase, they INSIST that I keep the guitar in their low-moisture guitar case, SPECIFICALLY stating that it is to prevent moisture from weakening or damaging the guitar. The cases for guitars like Taylor even come with anti-moisture packets to absorb the moisture.
I'm just curious why there would be a disagreement for such wood preservation?
@Amosstoddar Yup, I've been playing for 27 years. And I'm also a chemical engineer. What do you think guitar humidifiers are for. When wood is dry it contracts, causing it to crack. Learn to spell Filipino. And these greedy Filipinos remind you of the greedy Americans right?
@powerrangersr Thanks for correcting me. I'm not sure why more expensive cases are made more air tight, I thought it was to avoid humidity, and of course, thats what guitar salesmen told me to do, protect the guitar from humidity... But to confuse 'greedy' with trying to avoid be taken advantage of, is really a swing and a miss.
@Amosstoddar Nope they are not honest

dont bring those guitars abroad they crack like mine due to the dryness of the air. Decent guitars, fretboard is kinda cheap and sloppily made though
