@ronki23 Hogan was not a technical wrestler. His style was more like classic mauler. What put him and WWF on the map was his charisma. Plus he was huge and super strong. Charisma is the most important component of a successful wrestler. You can be the greatest technical wrestler in the world, but if you don't have the personality and fan appeal to back it up you'll never be a big name. Wrestlers like Hogan & Warrior may not have been high flyers but in terms of excitement they were no 1.

Andre had serious back problems that night and all hogan did was slam him, a leg drop and a few crappy punches. Andre was very heavy then, but Warrior slammed him when he was even heavier. Andre was incredible when he was thinner, but anyone will tell you that Hogan could not wrestle. Good role model at the time, but bad wrestler.

RoH doesnt have a large enough budget for adverts...you think wrestling sucks now?! Give it 10 yrs. Andre had serious back problems that night and all hogan did was slam him, a leg drop and a few crappy punches. Andre was very heavy then, but Warrior slammed him when he was even heavier. Andre was incredible when he was thinner, but anyone will tell you that Hogan could not wrestle. Good role model at the time, but bad wrestler.

Shaea Stadium 1980. However that wasn't there first match. I think the first one was actually on t.v. when Andre was being interviewed and Hogan and Blassie came out and challenged him. They had a match and Hogan actually bodyslammed him a few moments into it.

I agree! In my opinion, the ONLY positive thing(s) coming from TODAY'S WWE are the DVDs featuring the "old school" matches and interviews. I don't know if it will ACTUALLY "see the light of day," but I'm hoping for a DVD called "The Rise and Fall of the WWE."

Young Hogan was a powerful wrestler that went toe to toe with Inoki, who is a guy who wrestled against boxers such as mohammad ali. How old are you to not know a power house wrestler? Wrestling involves allot of grappling and take downs, and hogan during the late 70's-80's was able take down and grapple guys who were nearly impossible to lock down. You don't know wrestling above 7 years, this whole post of yours shows that your knowledge of wrestling in general is only from the sports entertainment. Watch his matches in japan.
