I'm not gonna call Beck racist, but I will say he doesn't know shit about Dr King, except maybe the 3 paragraphs he read in his high school history book. I wonder if he knows dr. King was in favor of social justice programs, labor unions, and affermative action style legislation, and that he read Marx while in college and , though he rejected communism, he spoke favorably about democratic socialism. Glenn Beck and Dr King's ideologies are about as compatable as oil and water.

i think the biggest thing that gets missed when talking anything about MLK is the fact that he was a communist, a member of the communist party, so was rosa parks. and the night before his i have a dream speech his body guard caught him in bed with 2 white prostitutes and he said "tonite ladies, im not a black man" rofl. the hero of fail. rosa parks and MLK both had a picture taken of them sitting next to each other in the front row of a communist party of america meeting. look it up.

@myrelative For glenn beck, a conservative (or libertarian, or whatever), to claim that he is taking the civil rights movement back because "we started it" is just stupid AND untrue. It was the LIBERAL northern and western republicans & the LIBERAL northern democrats who fought for civil rights. It was the CONSERVATIVE democrats AND republicans who voted against it. CONSERVATIVES of both parties were FOR segregation while LIBERTARIANS were against ALL gov. interference in this issue.

it is moot to argue if the civil rights movement was "conservative" or "liberal" in today's definition of the two.
I haven't looked up actual libertarian's position at the time, but being against gov. intervention is almost the entire civil rights act.
racism was the law. you can argue that the intervention in private businesses (a small part of the CRA) was necessary, but you can't claim that libertarians are against the CRA.

The ideology of the conservatives and liberals hasn't changed, the PARTIES (democrats and republicans) have changed. Liberals have always been for freedom for everybody (the gov. should intervene to try to make things more equal, pro women's rights, anti-slavery, etc.) and conservatives have always been for the status quo (America is perfect just as it is & to change ANYTHING is blasphemy).

I have a dream that Glenn Beck is in the unemployment line instead of race baiting and inciting another riot or civil war. Beck's religion said that black and native americans are not human and therefore could not belong to the moron religion. Beck is just upset becuase he can't own a bunch of slaves at least not legally but his religion does allow to marry 14 yr olds. So he should be happy with that he gets to molest children - what more does the bastard want.
