@zezejoker They cut it to make it fit into one movie that kids could watch without loosing attention and running off, so it was needed for marketing reason. They put in their own music because our culture is not japan and such children are not going to feel as tied to the Japanese OST as they would with music they hear on the radio and know. We are not Japan.

It doesn't depend on smartness. In the first episode of the 1st season we can see that when a digivolution takes place, it freezes time for everything except for the digimon and it's partner. However, Internet seems to have different ground rules to play with.

Besides, it's the 45th rule of anime that transformation sequences are uninterruptable, but being provocative is always great fun for a movie maker.

I'm an older fellow (45) but a sort of afficienado of the animation styles of anime. I preferred the Digimon to the Pokemon, though the movies score about equally to me. To this one's credit the musical score is pretty impressive as well as the combining of different, unique, animation styles. The story also plays out better un-homogenized by American television standards.
