The Red5 Team don't consider it an MMO and neither do most of its dedicated fan base. It's an open-world FPS with elements of PvP, and PvE, both on small, and pretty massive scales.
ok to all people that say this isnt a mmo MMO= masive multiplayer online so every game with mutliple people playing together online is a mmo, and befor you start saying a shooter like this wont work, its a game that focuses mostly on skill so you have to learnt to make it work. and to all other people that want to complain, try looking the game up first
@SuperPwningJeep GW2 probably has more people who are probably going to play it.... I think it will probably cost more out of the box. Its a MMORPG not MMOFPS so you can't compare them except for the # of players really. It will be 2 totally different play styles. If your prefer FPS then get this. If you like to play RPG get GW2. Both are F2P and look like good games

What I love about it is the mechanics that I have seen so far. @EmpReb The larger maps like Caspian Border are a haven for snipers and are incredibly slow paced with or without vehicles. The unlock system is terrible as they are in all fps games. The community is full of douchebags and overall it's just a very generic game there's nothing unique about it. I will admit though, a huge reason why I was disappointed was because the fanboys built it up to something it isn't. Battlefield has the worst fanboys of any franchise. If you like it though it's fine.

@Hannibal457 The 1st Planetside also had jetpacks and plasma canons (vanu team utilizes both). Planetside is not a basic infantry game, it includes Armor (tanks), transport, and aircraft (fighters, and even transport aircraft that can hold 15 people for paradrops). Planetside also had a very realistic strategy system with real ingame commanders with rank on all 3 factions, that would tell/ encourage players what to do. If anything the 1st PS would include more, not even to mention PS2.

How about making a premium user subscription or something where we pay a monthly fee and can get the same "micro mall" items inside the game for ingame money??
@theguywholikescookie Many games out there are F2P but offers a premium service where you pay a monthly sum of money for privileges like being able to buy "microtransaction mall" items for ingame money while regular F2P players can only get them by purchasing them from the microtransaction mall and not with ingame money, other privileges for premium users include getting quest packs immedietly (F2P users have to purchase them from the micro mall), having the priority in the logging queue, etc .
@SubspaceGamer They don't just sell cosmetics. They are also thinking of selling convenience items (for example, a 2 hour xp boost) in their cash shop. There will be no pay2win though
@OctavariumXP The game is still in closed beta. Devs said they will be doing a FINAL character swipe & open up the shop for microtransactions in december. But the closed beta will continue from there. The devs will still be giving out beta invites ( but at a much faster rate of course) untill people have so many invites that it just makes sense to open it up for everyone.
He actually had the crosshair over his target, but *all* projectiles in the game have travel time, and the Sniper Rifle actually has bullet drop. Have to compensate for it.
It looks like Tribes in the modern day. God I loved Tribes. I hope if this is an MMO there are periods of time where you're out exploring a world however and not just constantly in battles.

@djodars it's like EVERYTHING i see in trailers i seem to recognize from GA but i guess this will be a little better than GA ^^ only a little bit. GA is cool, but to less people play it and i lag to often, which i think, i hope, is for its servers, my internets should be fast enough actually

the beta test is a true test for this game, being apart of it is (insert what you think i think its like in the beta) apply on the website, and you get a chance to play in the beta, and help build this game to be beta then ever before, i joined the site after finding it on youtube thought oh wow this is cool, and in a couple days later BAM first wave of invite goes out and im in!
