ive got glasspacks with 5 inch tips and it doesnt pop at all smaller tips make it pop alot more

the shorter the glass pack the more poping and louder it gets.

i have a 15 inch glass pack mid pipe no tail on a 4.6 f150. no popping

you can't really do anything about the popping, that's just what happens after the rev, but when you're driving down the road, it shouldn't do that

iv got a 01 5.4L, with pacesetter long tubes, going straight to the cherry bomb glass packs header mufflers, the ones that angle down

drive down the road untill your exhaust gets good and hot then poor cold water on the glass pack that will stop the popping and it'll be alot louder

Glasspacks are naturally crackly. Once they get worn in they wont crackle as much, but a bigger diameter pipe would help. 3 inch vs 2 1/2....

would running bigger pipes from the glasspack back have any effect or would you have to do the whole exhaust?

Depends on where the glasspacks are. If they are further up and you ran 3 inch over the axle it would probably help. A larger glasspack (in length and diameter of tubing and case) would also help.

to stop the poping is to put bigger pipe on it so insted of 3inch put 4inch but thats a diesel gases are diff

i've heard that if you run larger pipes from the manifolds back it can eliminate the popping... but, don't hold me to that...

thinner pipes = more poppingdue to high scavenging, thicker pipes = less popping due to a loss of scavenging.

@Austin1199396 im pretty sure that is true, my 4.6 has alot of popping and i hate it, but im running true duals with no cats and 2.5" pippingg from the headers so that could be why mine is doing that. what pipping you running??

stop free revving, it won't snap crackle and pop.. my '04 with si/do cherry bomb doesn't pop..but i don't go around free revving either

I would reccoment it, I had a 22 inch CherryBomb on my 88 LandCruiser, sounds great, got another LandCruiser recently, an 89. Ordered my glasspacks couple days ago, cuttin the cat right off and clamping the Cbombs on where it was.
