Brilliant, incredible & awesome footage which I really enjoyed watching. As someone who was lucky enough to experience life on the footplate back in BR days, I am so appreciative of the ability to watch video of this quality. It's good when (almost) every nerve in my body 'vibrates' to the 'beat'!! Many thanks.
@SYKAROST Thank You for your kind comment i'm really pleased you enjoyed my video. What an experience that must have been working with steam every day. Are either of these classes familiar to you?
Great film Martyn, couldn't get out for this one myself. That spot leaving Exeter was just marvelous, shame about the HST but thats out of your control. The sea wall shot is always a winner in my book.
Another fine video, the shot at Bedminster provides a nice variation to the usual one on Whiteball and the shot on the sea wall was quite superb, very dramatic with those rough seas. It's a shot that would work well in black and white too I think
@acw71000 Thanks very much. It's nice to find new locations that work well but old friends like the sea wall will always remain a favourite. Even if I did get hit by a wave a couple of years ago while videoing the King.
Well done Martyn, all excellent shots as usual. I actually decided on the position where you were at Exeter but went back to the station car park when the SWT set parked up. As it turned out, it was one-out-of-three unlucky for you regarding passing trains but I still think it a better position. You have to take risks sometimes for the more interesting shots. Alan
@Steamclips Thanks Alan. The SWT set was there when I arrived but moved off just as I was wondering whether to try somewhere else. As you say my luck ran out with the HST passing in front but all in all it was a good day.
You're joking: "Not the greatest shot, but at least we got something.". These are great shots and you got much more than something. The sea wall pictures are super and how do yo want to top these scenic footage of the starting out of New North Road? My heart is with photography and if I look at each picture out of 6:30 to 6:40, they are just wonderful.
@collieultimo I'm proud of all these shots here it's just that sometimes you turn up at a place you don't know and the view is disappointing. We tried several locations and ended up with a shot where the locos were coasting downhill. I'm glad you enjoyed it though and I thank you for your continued support.
Well donme for capturing this run which defied some punter's doubts. I really wanted this run to be the Hall and Castle but having a King and Brit you can get away with. Many of these sequences stand out well during the run with a couple close calls. Pretty much a shame at the end with that late running HST into Exeter going into the foreground but never the less a fine amount of work put into it any hows.
@GreatWestern175 I was looking forward to a Hall and Castle as well but knew it wouldn't happen just like steam coming on at Westbury never happens. This was a long journey for me, going via Bristol both ways which I don't normally do, making it a 500 mile round trip. But it was worth it.
@jakeyboygen Thanks Jake for your comment. Bedminster was a new location for me and the seawall shot was tricky because I'd slackened the drag on my tripod off and when the train came into sight realised that the wind was blowing the camera all over the place. Obviously it doesn't notice
Wow you certainly seem to have got the best shots out of that day! That Dawlish shot reminds me of some of those framed photos you get, looked awesome with all that steam!
Who were the lovely ladies? Lovely video though - particularly liked the shot along the sea wall.

Voyagers and HSTs tried their best to spoil the shot, but you foiled them every time. Lovely shot leaving Exeter.

@AndreiTupolev Thanks mate. I have had a few shots spoilt by passing trains recently so it's nice to have a bit of good luck for a change.
