Yeah I'm pretty convinced that Head was the source of all their dissonance, it just isn't there anymore. I hear some tritonal dissonance from time to time in their newer songs, but very rarely, head just brought the magic into their atmosphere.

People say Korn suck when they get experimental. I think Korn did it right on this album. They kept the heaviness and the funkiness of previous albums with a touch of experimentation. It sounds like a Korn album. When they did Untitled (which I still like) they stripped out the core of their sound and opted for pure experimentation. It sounds good, but it doesn't have the energy that this album has. Issues is as dark as Life Is Peachy, but it is dark in a different way. Korn is great.
