  • wow, I remember playing this in my crappy Compaq PC back in 1999 or 2000, can't remember, been too long

  • Found myself getting teary eyed while listening to these songs. I instantly recognized all of them in a warm way. Sounds from the golden age of PC gaming.

  • My nigga. The nostalgia is mind blowing.

  • The music for this is so good I replace it for the music in MW4 ;)

  • watch?v=RgojYKuYrd4

    Startup sound for cars (MW2)

  • It's too bad my old Win98 PC went stupid and ate my MW2 disc. I really miss this game. :'(

  • Один из лучших саундтреков, подходящих под игру, на моей памяти.

    Ностальгия...

  • I didn't hear much of the other music while playing. Only 3-4 first songs, and it would start replaying the first track if I went to options to change volume and other things. Fortunately it was one of them discs that could be played in a CD player, so I got to enjoy rest of the tracks, too.

I miss the game. I really didn't know what to do (I was too young), but I had fun enough fooling around. My warrior of choice was some of the jetpack ones, and I would fly high, crashland and crush my legs.

  • friggin' smoke jaguar elementals

  • okay, i want to learn to play this on guitar.

  • I have an old game cd of this and ripped the audio off it to play in othe rgames, still enoyables.

Reactor Online, Weapons.. Online. All systems nominal.

  • This is an amazing soundtrack. Good solid playing and writing. Any idea who the player/composer is?

  • @drethe47 Composer is Jeehun Hwang

  • @AndyWatchVideo lol yeah, and for some reason my auto album art always comes up with Kirk Franklin and the Family lol. I dunno, it's a mystery.

  • i agree this soundtrack is badass

  • You could put your game CD into your CD-Player to listen to the soundtrack

  • @BSEMensch Did this all the time, some games wouldn't work, its was just one track of CHZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ! lol

  • the guy that composed these songs is still around, google Jeehun Hwang, I like his volcano high song on his website

  • This used to be the ONLY thing I ever listened to. My iTunes shows that I've listen to each song at least 400 times. Some songs go to like 7,000-10,000. I just love these songs. Now I listen to other game backgound music lol! (Like Nintendo games and Warcraft II games) I also listen to techno music like Sandstorm and Exploration of Space. Thumbs up if you are like me.

  • Mechwarrior... what you going to do about it... who thinks it died? =P I just hope we can atleast can ONE more mechwarrior game at least in 2 or 3 years =P

  • @Sporefan105 New one in development. Look up Piranha Games.

  • Don't forget the great mod for Crysis Wars: Mechwarrior Living Legends! Very good!

  • When I was in 3rd grade, this is the music I listened to.

I must have been one badass 3rd grader.

  • oh no oh no oh noooo

  • Oh yah, this takes me WAY back...

  • Its to bad they did not make more clan oriented games. They catered way to much to the inner sphere.

  • These songs are the soundtrack to the PS1 MW2 game as well.

  • oh man listening to this brought back mad memories thanks bro what fun blowin shit to this! :D

  • Argh! Freedom fight, i remember sticking ppc's and heavy lasers all over my mechs and going spaz everytime i heard that song only to have my mech overheat and shutdown in the most undramatic way.

This game was amazing, i was about 8 when i had this and did not really understand the game (hence sticking really stupid weapon loadouts on my mechs). Shame i never played the pc version but the console version was probably more user friendly for 8 yr old noobs like me at the time.

  • @Gelgo0g I used to put fucking missiles on my mech's LEGS. Yeah I shot missiles from my kneecaps. Still, good times lol. These songs really bring me back.

"Critical Hit..Laser" "Critical Hit... weapon destroyed.. " "Critical hit... leg" EJECTING!

  • @Gelgo0g Me too man, me too

  • I played this game for PC when computer games were new and untapped. 14 years later its easily still one of the best PC games if you look passed its graphics.

You know a game is awesome when it was made in a time where there was almost no competition and no market, but is as high quality as it is.

  • 2:23 FTW This song kicked ass when blowing up mechs all around me this fit perfectly ;P

  • Man, this is way back when Nine Inch Nails and Sonic Youth were the big inspirations for Game Music. Gotta say, it was an awesome time.

  • Ahh, sweet nostalgia... i remember playing this as a kid. Gotterdamerung remains one of my favorite video game songs, and i have to say that as beautiful as the music is, it's oh so much better while you're playing the mission -- it just fits perfectly

  • hmmm... i know what game im buying next :D

  • Track 20, my favorite. IIRC it has the same melody with that MW2-31st Century Combat track before the intro appears.

  • these songs are the reason i chose to look for a career in video game sound & scoring. to this day the best video game sound track i know of

  • Just don't get anything this funky these days.

  • Track 8, greatest of them all

  • The guitar riffs at 3:50 are amazing

  • Aw, you didn't use the full versions...

  • Ive nvr played Mercenaries before, but its worth nothing that Gotterdamerung songs really nice. less so the rest..

    nothing beats 31st Century Combat.

  • Really, you have never never played MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries? YOu're missing out on a spectacular game! And you can't really say nothing beats 31 Century Combat until you have played all the games.

  • The last track is the best! especially from 5:25, makes me feel like crying! :p

  • it is amazing how much nostalgia these 5 songs bring back

  • SO true

  • MW2: Mercs was my fav all time mech game

MW3 was the best multiplayer, but single player was weak.

Go check out the video for MW5 its amazing!

  • This is the Gotterdammerung!

  • The last one is da best, especially the 4:57 part. I played it in my CD player a lot.

  • I also played it in my CD player a lot, as well as Mechwarrior 3 and Live Wire and Reloaded. Those were good days when you could do that. :)

  • man these songs made this game so intense :)

  • @juliousMaximous: yes, in combination with the unique female voice of the battlemech computer, which does not appear in any other mechwarrior game (see my only video for reference)

  • I think ive got the orginal version got it in a boxset years ago with interstate 76 lol

    best soundtrack for a game

  • Anyone have the Mech 4: mercs songs?

  • I remember that a a magazine once said that the soundtrack of this game was not good, I bet the reviewers just played the training levels :) this game soundtrack its one of the best of all time, at least for me it is :)

  • no kidding you'd think that the reviewers would play a mission or two and hear the music

  • thanks, i miss these old songs

  • lol how every one kepps saying good times its all like my comments you speak the truth lol

  • haha, I used to put the game CDs in my CD player and listen to them! Oh the memories..

  • Comment removed

  • lol i did too

  • Well if you guys have the CDs to the games you can get them from there.

  • only problem is that mw 2 mercs doesnt work on anything above windows 98, and most people have gotten new comps since then... so yeah

  • There are many fixes for newer computers. I downloaded a patcher that lets the Titanium version of this work.

  • virtual pc

  • ah.. the good old times. exodus always reminds me of goin around in a hunkering Kodiak..

they seriously got some of the most captivating music for the type of game in this game

  • cool

  • YES! THE FULL OST! I've been looking for this for so damn long.

  • This is only the top 5 songs from the OST. There are actually almost 20 OST songs. I have uploaded most of them (though they are a bit unorginized.) I don't have the same version of Exodus that Andy has uploaded here and the songs sound slightly different.

  • I know, I was referring to the link in the info.

  • yea im not sure y but i downloaded on another comp it worked fine

  • why when i do the download does it not give me 5 or so tracks from both this and the origonal mw2?

  • I went and downloaded the whole soundtrack all the songs were there. Had no problem what so ever.

  • why wont it do the whole song!

  • because this is the 3D acceletared version which the same as titanium edition cut down all the songs to add in more "useless" features

  • pretty good.
