  • Nice lesson, bro! Thumbs up; from L.A.

  • does this work with people bigger than you?

  • @bonnervsgriffen yes, quite well actually because you need to get their centre of gravity higher than yours for it to really work

  • @bonnervsgriffen It's much easier to execute this, and most other throws, on someone who is bigger than you. Notice that (generally) you get under and lift.

  • if ben kingsley did judo

  • I love judo....you can do big things easily

  • Six years ago, I went to Japan as part of a home-stay trip. While I was living with my home-stay family, I went to school with the girl I lived with, and one thing they did was have the judo club teach us how to a similar technique in front of the whole school.

I remember I was the first one who got it right, and my partner hit the mats with a SLAM! The whole school gasped! ... Then they broke out in applause! My partner wasn't hurt and even seemed happy for me. It was simply... awesome.

    :D

  • ouch! i know there are mats and all but I an=m so happy that's not me being thrown!

  • @elzgio1 it doesnt hurt

  • @elzgio1 why, it's good fun :D

  • i hate the intro

  • im gonna start judo next year, my grandpa basically brought judo into france

  • @kawaiiDD jiu-jitsu is based n judo. you got it the wrong way around.

  • @tehf00n nah man he's right. judo is based off jiu jitsu.... BRAZILIAN jiu jitsu is based off judo

  • @emc4lsd wrong. Judo is based off of jujutsu. Brazilian jiu jitsu is based off an obscure style of Japanese jujutsu with extensive groundfighting techniques. That style was used to defeat Jigoro Kano's judo team and actually allowed him to realize that most martial artists did not have a solid groundfighting repertoire.

  • @NewWavePr0ductions wrong brazlilian jiu-jitsu was based off of judo.

  • @emc4lsd judo is based of ju jitsu , not jiu jitsu

  • @emc4lsd I thought Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was created by Helio Gracie because he was too small to practice Japanese Jiu-Jitsu. Not Judo.

  • @TheCurrymanEffect BJJ is just the ground techniques of Judo, Gracie did not create shit

  • ooh god *-*

  • Karate Means Empty Hands,And All Martial Arts DOESN'T Use Any Weapons

  • @auficrazy Except Kendo,Etc

  • @thud0rs You're kidding, right? Judo is a type of Jujutsu. Seriously, you're joking, right?

  • @thud0rs This isn't karate.

  • Common sense but very effective

  • im going to do this to niggers

  • watch?v=ffqV1K1T1KE My Judo video in HD good musik!! please vote and komment!!

  • @iSlapU4Fun

    niz one

  • Point out that your hips must be lower than your opponents!

  • Yay now I can throw people into the mats in gym class. Woot woot

  • I have judo practice today at 5pm :)

Still waiting for my suit to arrive though, they said it will arrive today :(

Hopefully I can wear brand spanking new gear for the practice and wow the girls :DD

  • yeah its just non stop teaching on how to fall properly

  • i try this on my big sis who always beats me up and when i go to pull her up its just like ''why isnt she lifting shes so heavy''

  • @JoeGoRawr Break her balance first. Unless you do that, her weight is totally on you. Watch closely when he wraps his arm around his torso, he's pulling to break his balance as he pulls across his hips.

  • im a light yung girl and i can do this. i can fall and i can make fall some one (may not a 2 meter 200 kg men)

but actually i do karate not judo

  • i'm tall and its kinda hard. i have to really kneel to throw someone to get this to work. any tips?

  • @agentapathy you could grab his shirt with the right hand and pick him up a little bit. I don't know how to explain in english >_<

  • @CuteKemonomimi trust me, thats informative. its just hard being tall and too into throws and joint locks. haha thanks.

  • i know how to do this when i was 9 months old

  • This fat guy was running at me. My brother put his leg out and the fat guy did a front roll and twisted his ankle. By the way my brother was 6 and the fat guy was my mate

  • hahah czarny bas ten w niebieskiej judoce a padać nie umie

  • i did this move to a guy and now he wants to date

  • @yodaddyxx lol

  • @yodaddyxx :D:D:D try tomoe nage on him. maybe he's too scared after this throw to date you :D:D

  • @CuteKemonomimi ya! Right in the balls! hahaha

  • is it possible to throw a fat guy ..?

  • @born2fi8 Yeah of course, Judo was meant for smaller people to throw bigger people. If he is really big it might be difficult but as long as your technique is perfect, it should work on about anyone.

  • @asoka2000 Whizzkid I am new to Judo, didn't realize it emphasises alot on take-downs , because every video I have seen on Judo is about throws. From what you just said , at least it still has more throws than BJJ, which is same as in Pankration, and I am interested in learning throws in order to add to what I already know. I was however correct about BJJ learning mostly take-downs. I know some throws from my last dojo and the rest are take-downs,submissions & the stand up fighting (Muay Thai).

  • First day was doing rolls and break falls. On my second day went over basic rolls and break falls again plus this particular throw. Throw has to be done slowly for beginners so they are prepared to break fall properly.

  • I would never put down judo as I believe from what I've seen in past that it could be very effective in a real situation as long as the person has practiced other styles previous to it. Judo by itself on the street would be useless but mixed in with Muay Thai,or Pankration would be incredible. The main reason I have currently signed up for Judo is to add to my experience in Pankration that concentrates alot on muay thai , shooting in for take-downs, ground work but lacks in throws.

  • One thing I've never understood about Judo, perhaps someone can explain it to me, why is it you guys always learn to grab from the gi before throwing or executing any technique, when on the street no one is going to be wearing a gi ? One the street where regular clothing is worn, if you grab it will probably ripp out of your hands before you can throw the person or applying a choke.

  • @asoka2000 ur assuming judo is made for street fighting?

  • @jacob3432 No I'm not assuming that about Judo or any martial arts, however some arts also will help in a real situation even if originally practiced as an art or sport as one may call it.

  • @asoka2000 i agree. just chekn haha

  • @asoka2000 Judo is a competition sport you moron. It is not designed for street fighting and doesn't claim to be. However, I guarantee that experienced judo fighters will not be outgunned to many times in the street.

FYI u can easily use regular clothing to choke people out. If u ever learn Krav Maga, one of the ultimate self-defence styles, u will see this for yourself.

U obviously know nothing about martial arts or u wouldn't make such ignorant, disrespectful remarks

  • @whizzkid27 Moron , I know it's a competition sport but it could also be effective on the street even more so if it was practiced in a dojo without wearing a gi.

I probably know way more about martial arts than you, I did 12 yrs. of Okinawan Goju Ryu, and 7yrs. of Pankration. I only went to my second Judo class yesterday. I never once put down judo, why would I when I just joined it ?, I simply just asked a question. Take it how you want.

  • @asoka2000 oh well done, u began studying a martial art without doing proper research on it. Bit hard to take u seriously as a martial artist when u come off with this sort of nonsense.

In any case, there's a million idiots on here who claim to be expert martial artists. Do I believe even 1%? Nope and that includes u!

  • @whizzkid27 Like I said before take it anyway you want, I never once put down judo. Doing 19 yrs. of martial arts doesn't make me an expert, there is always more to learn. I simply asked a question a question, and gave an opinion.

Yes there are alot of idiots on here claiming to be martial arts experts but I'm not one of them, I did do karate for 12 yrs. and taught for 5yrs. and then went and studied Pankration for 7yrs. and just signed up for Judo (and like it so far) a couple days ago.

  • @asoka2000 Well good luck to you. Mind you I don't know why you've opted for Judo over Jiu Jutsu, as Jui Jutsu is far superior to Judo as far as sport fighting is concerned.

For the record I did Judo and Tai Jutsu from age 5 to 17 Judo's a great sport, no question, but not sure it will be a great asset to u personally for what u want it for.

Incidentally, all clubs vary, but proper self-defence techniques were taught at my judo club (not reliant on grabbing the gi).

Why did u not take BJJ?

  • @whizzkid27 Pankration has submission wrestling , which is exactly the same as BBJ at least in our school, but without the uniform. I decided to take up Judo because it's something different. Submission wrestling like BBJ is all about going for take downs, front chokes, reverse chokes, triangle choke, arm bars, elbow locks, knee locks etc. , and they fight best on the ground. Judo is about avoiding being taken to the ground by using throws. If I'm correct BBJ doesn't have throws.

  • @asoka2000 I assume u mean BJJ (brazilian jui jutsu) not BBJ (Bare Blow Job) LOL. I suggest u do some proper research as u don't seem to really know what ur talking about. Throws are not a major part of BJJ but they are there. After all BJJ has evolved from Judo. Judo also has a heavy emphasis on takedowns and submission

BTW don't lecture people on subjects that they may know more about than u eg. Judo. It's an irritating habit especially when you're making questionable assumptions.

  • @whizzkid27 @whizzkid27 Yes BJJ, you're a funny guy/girl but thanks for the correction. I know BJJ came from Judo, I wasn't sure about throws in BJJ that's why I did say, "If I'm correct" which states I think so, not that I know for sure. You just said yourself throws are not a major part of BBJ but are still there, and the same goes for the submission wrestling part of Pankration.

  • Nice work Champion Martial Arts!

  • i would imagine the heavier your opponent is the harder the throw will be.

  • @ihatebobsaget1989 The way they are doing it, that is correct.

  • @ihatebobsaget1989 It's about technique not how heavy your opponent is, if you have excellent technique you can throw or beat just about anyone at least that's what I've been told in Judo and other styles I've done.

  • Thanks Jigoro Kano!

  • these videos are good but what if you are a Mixed martial arts like my self and dont wear a gi? i know u can watch thses vids and improvise by say, grabbing a wrist in stead of the gi but still...

  • @TheMMAfightchannel i am also a mixed martial artist having a gi for this throw doesn't really matter because you just grab the wrist and keep a tight underhook with the other arm and it can still be done easily

  • It's nice to find instructional judo videos that actually teach proper technique to beginners.

Rather than the poor excuses that so many mixed art videos insist on showing.

  • Can u do this flip if someone Tried to punch you and you grab his arm and do this won't you fall with him

  • @Victor117Lopez a lot of the time you're supposed to throw in to a pin so you throw the guy and land on top, works out nice

  • @alphabetazulu o ya i thought u were supposed to do dat but ive seen alot of people do it so thanks dude

  • @Victor117Lopez ya i think cuz lets say if someone is running to you in a punch motion you can grab his hand then his hip then flip him

  • @saradomin89898 ya just making sure that if u can flip him in a punch motion got it thanks

  • @nicduane XDDD me 2!!!

  • I've just started ufc and judo real helps. thank you judo

  • @152jonster015 haha please learn the correct term, its not called ufc

  • hey WATS up people!!!!

  • Very nice.

  • Yep... Defiantly using this on my little bro.

  • @nicduane me 2 hahahah my lil bro is so ignoying lmao

  • @nicduane hell no im usin this on my big bro

  • @nicduane lmao

  • i live in san jose and gona start judo,no better place in the u.s

  • i have to do this throw for my Yellow Belt today (:

  • lol i learned judo but i still use my own little weird amde up judo grappling lol i just head lock and fall with the guy im with lol

  • hehe i use this in wrestling alllllll the time, its what got me my record breaking 6 second win

  • ive been doing judo for 3 days i love it but today i was doing this throw and my knee went out of place its fine though but it was very painful

  • what is the warm up called for judo? (in japanese?)

  • what if a guy has no shirt on and you cant grab his sleeve.

  • @dakoda94 The technique can also be done without grabbing the sleeve. I personally find it easier without grabbing the sleeve.

  • @dakoda94 . . .just make sure to carry an extra shirt around with you, and when some guy tries to rob you have him put a shirt on before you fight him. . . lol

  • @atgblue1 haha ya

  • @dakoda94 i only dabble in the art of judo, but i'm sure this move would have the same affect if you grab his arm instead of where you would normally grab his sleeve.

  • @dakoda94 you use his arm. i do this in BJJ you can also aviod this if you have setup a very strong base. i tryed to do this to my instuctor and i couldnt even move him.

  • what if the opponent is still grabbing you? youll fall wont you.

  • @airbusboy3

If the guy is still holding on, then he'll fall awkwardly doing more damage to himself tbh.

  • he can take u all so stfu and stop say he do all wrong

  • Ever since I started doing aikido, I find judo more and more fascinating.

  • i been doing judo since i was 4 now im 17 nd thats a wak way of learning i was goin to compete in 2012 olipics but broke my wrist and leg :( TEAM GB

  • the assisants always get hurt on these things...XD

  • is there a lesson for barrel rolls?

  • Hey guys, How long does it take to be good at throws in Judo, Or just good at judo, can you learn these throws fast?

  • There easy to learn, however it all depends on how good you comprehend the information and techniques shown to you. Also there are many forms of Judo Sport/Competitive Judo and Combat Judo which is more self defense based. What do you mean by good at judo, please be more specific and I'll surely reply. -Kind Regards- ChavaMMA

  • @TysonFan911 Goto a judo dojo bro, they dont take long if ur learning in a dojo U learn at least 2 throws a day

  • naa u learn 4-6 moths just how to fall

  • @Mrtvababa

Not nessarly i have started doing hip throws, body throws etc

I have been going for about 2months.

  • Comment removed

  • @Mrtvababa i did a thing, a 1 hour judo lesson every day for 5 days in a row, by the end we were doing throws like this or even more complicated

  • @Mrtvababa i agree, it does take 4-6 months to learn to fall correctly, because over coming the fear of falling does take time...but if your implying that, thats all they will teach you for 4-6 months your surly mistaken.

  • @Mrtvababa

very true because learning how to break fall is as vital is learning how to throw. Learning how to break fall by instinct takes some time

  • @AimingFist you will gain that instinct probably 6 months into training (if you train more than 3-4 days a week).

  • @Mrtvababa really?

  • @Mrtvababa 2-3 months

  • Comment removed

  • @Mrtvababa I learned to fall in 2 weeks, it all depends on the person

  • @Mrtvababa i wish. my trainer just told be "fall" and next day guys were throwing me and it hurt alot lol

  • @tipailovas just watch what others do and u try to learn

  • @Mrtvababa yeah now i know how to do it, it happened 7 yrs ago

  • @Mrtvababa Yep. took 5 months of learning to fall, before I was even in training =[

  • @Mrtvababa 4-6 months on breakfalling? Maybe 4-6 lessons before you should know it enough to move on to other things.

  • @blastermitch 4-6 lessons then you can most likely fall properly on a mat.

more like 4-6 months before you can fall properly on concrete;)

  • @Dashwarp Dude, the principle is the same. It's just gonna hurt more on concrete! I did a great break fall after falling off a motorcycle once. Didn't even scratch my helmet! I've done break falls on concrete, grass, carpet and mats. The moves were all exactly the same. Obviously you dont wanna slap the ground on a side fall on concrete. THAT will hurt a lot. Anyway, at our school, we do the initial lesson mostly on falls and a few other things otherwise people wont come back.

  • @blastermitch I'm not going to be the 1000th bullshit expert on youtube so this will be my last comment here. I'll give you something to think about Ever seen a parkour roll? Thats the difference between ground falling on a mat and on concrete. Obviously you cant just roll away when someone throws you, but the principle of being round remains. If you fall on your motor cycle at a high speed, I wouldn't try and break my fall.I'd roll my ass off.

  • @Dashwarp Mate, I dunno who your sensei is, but ours taught us to breakfall one way: for falling on the ground, whether that be on mats or on concrete. The technique is the same. Like I said, I've done the same technique on all kinds of surfaces, with the same outcome: no injury. When I fell off my bike, it was a low side. I tried to stand up too soon, and had to forward roll. Anyway, whatever. Best of luck to you, bud.

  • @blastermitch mate, i know ALOT of people in the judo business who have been doing shit ukemis for 20+ years... 4-6 lessons? if you can teach a legitimate breakfall in 6 months id be impressed pal!

  • @1308lee Well champ, I believe I may have said 4 - 6 lessons learning breakfalls. Perfecting them is another story. There is no way anyone would hang around the dojo learning breakfalls only for 6 months. My first lesson, I learnt breakfalls, arm bars and throws, I think. Now my Sensei is a fourth dan Olympian, so I think he knows what he's doing. Cheers, anyway.

  • @Mrtvababa not that much... It was like 2-3 month 4 us.

  • @TysonFan911

no way. You need much patience, even if you have lessons twice a week. The only thing who you can get it faster is to study the techniques, watch them and before you enter the Tatami think about what you want to do, so there's no kidding. It is a serious kind of sports, you should know, that Judo begins in your head, not on the Tatami.

So, you need several years. The best Judokas did Judo their whole lives.

  • ahhhh nice. i do judo (check out my judo vid if you want, it will show you what to expect your dojo to look like. its my teachers sparring in class) and its the coolest thing iv ever don! iv you wanna learn it for the love of god dont go to a mc'dojo (dojo in a strip mall...they will always take your money and fold up a month later. plus they're teachings will almost always suck) i suggest the YMCA thats where i learn. :) u do karate huh? cool, im thinking of that for my second martial art.:)

  • I love how martial arts, no matter where there origin, can combine so fluidly and effectively. This is basically an over-under hip throw seen in scholastic, greco-roman, and freestyle wrestling.

  • i like the mcdonald's mc snack wrap. u should try it

  • damn that is smooth. i gotta get into this.

  • @Geolan1 i know right! i know japanese style karate but i need to add this move to my knowlege! this is slick.

  • im just sayin. you know whats gay? people who criticize others in youtube when they have no videos. Now agree to that and look at yourself!

  • @RasAlGhul4000 Tell that to somebody with a black belt and see what happens.

  • dude if you like this throw , then you should definetly start judo, this is a basic throw you need to learn from white to yellow(6th kyu to 5th kyu)

  • @Geolan1 yes you should it's any martial art is amazing.

  • yeah, fighting for sport is pretty good I guess, but I like to think of martial arts as Combat systems for life and death situations. But yeah MMA is fun to watch.

  • Also, why would I be stupid to practice a tried and tested Martial art, THAT WAS CREATED FOR KILLING? I do it because it interests me and it is fun. Theres a difference between those who practice martial arts as a sport and those who practice martial arts to learn how to defend themselves.Ninpo is NOT a sport its a combat art! Ninpo, along w/ other martial arts I practice, give me the knowledge that is need to defend myself and the people I care about. Self control is in all martial arts.

  • on thursday someone at my school was punching me and i did this to him and then he got up and slammed my head against a locker and then i did the same thing to him again and he cried and i walked away and went to class

  • meet and sort it out face to face!!!

  • Oh and BTW, why don't you actually go and practice some REAL martial arts instead of your Homo-ass MMA before you decide to bash other people's techniques. I mean, Have you ever even trained in a TRADITIONAL ITF style TKD Dojang? And besides, at the time I was just starting TKD asshole, so obviously one can infer that I hadn't mastered the fucking tornado kick. I do believe that some MMA fighters are TRUE martial artists, but truth is most of them are'nt even close to being REAL martial artists.

  • how the hell does a fight about mma and ninjutsu start on a judo lesson for beginners video...wtf is wrong with people these days. cool video btw i might end up learnin judo someday and this vid just makes me wanna learn it moreXD

  • LMFAO! Its funny to see morons listen to what their karate or judo teacher says about other fighting methods. MMA is the top fighting style. Boxers, judokas, wrestlers, karate, kickboxing, jujitsu and others will not win alone without being well rounded. I train MMA and have went against pretty much all other arts. I love how they say "in japan', or "in china" there are fighters that will kill MMA fighters. Well, where are they? They can fight in UFC and prove themselves. Too bad they wont win

  • Masahiko Kimura beat that piece of shit Gracie fighter, broke his arm too and the ignorant piece of shit still tried to fight, claiming hes BJJ is better than Judo, Masahiko owned him silly. And remember Martial Arts is for defence not for some cage fighting shit.

  • well i disagree with u saying martial arts isnt for mma or another form of combat sport but idk y but alot of the gracies are assholes

  • u can disagree all u want, Martial Arts is not meant for full contact fights, its for self defense, all those brutes learn is a bit from a few martial arts which is fine for the situation, but they go around thinkin they're highly trained n shit, it takes skill, dedication and a lot of practice, discipline to be able to call yourself a true martial artist, not some stupid brutes goin at it in the octagon, i like watchin UFC, im a big fan of it but martial arts is for defence

  • alot of MMA fighters focus on one art like anderson silva royce gracie BJ Penn wat maks it ful contct is that its from every style the original MMA was the best karate against like the best savat its half martial art half fighting sport like boxing the way ur sayin it is like saying a thai boxer isnt a martial artist bcuz its ful contact traditional martial arts arnt as effectiv @ self defence bcuz no guy trying 2 mug u r going 2 b wearing a gi & theres no rules mma is a martial art in itself

  • i was stating how i feel if you dont like it, then dont read my comments u fucking retard.

  • and fuck MMA, im sick and tired of u cunts keep braggin bout how cool it is, its fuckin shit, all it is is learning a bit of each martial art, anyone can learn a bit of each thers no fuckin skill or talent in it. You're just a bunch of tramps who get taught a few things and think ur fuckin gods, i give credit to the UFC MMA fighters but any other MMA fighters are just wannabes thriving off of what UFC fighters do. An experienced Judoka would fuckin kill an MMA

  • then styep into the octagon with an expeirenced mma fighter there is nothing wrong with judo im going 2 b taking classes of it soon judo is like all martial arts awesome and beautiful but mma is more complete because u can use all different kinds of martial arts ufc is the most famous of all mma circuits but u should watch old pride fights and art of war MMA is MIXED martial arts and will always b the most evolved and effective combat sport

  • PS u ignorant asshole look @ trhis fight a straight judo guy again renzo gracie a mixed martial artist who foucuses on brazilian jiu jitsu

  • you've missed my point. What i was saying was MMA fighters go around chatting shit like they're accomplished martial artists just because they've had basic training in a few styles, all they are is stupid brutes, i give credit to the ones that do have black belts but to the ones that dont they can fuck off because all they do is show off and claim to be the best, i dont like their big headedness. So when an MMA fighter beats a black belt martial artist and starts showing off that pisses me off.

  • My sensei once told me a quote that applies very well here. "I would rather be a master of one, than a novice of many." traditional martial arts can KILL any MMA fucker any day anywhere, cagefighting is not combat, good job Brady2k10 some retards are just too stupid too understand the reality and purpose of the traditional arts.

  • yea man they dont get it, all they do is train for cage fights... i mean what a load of shit. They're like animals thats all.

  • and you to shut up! MMA fighters arent animals and i bet if you talk so damn tuff you wouldnt even think of

    steppin in the cage

  • go learn english first

  • what do you meen learn t speak english? why dont you go learn more than just that ninjitsu shit

  • what u think cos an MMA fighter does a few weeks of training hes a martial artist? pshh fuck you asshole. "meen" you cant even spell right its MEAN u dumb shit, i kno a lot more than you do.

  • what are you? a fucking english teacher. and that bull shit comment about a few weeks of training yah fuck that some of the greatest ufc/mma fighters have been doing it since they were fifteen if not younger for instance frank mir, lyoto machida, shogun rua...the list goes on

  • you seen that epic fight with the famous Judoka and that prick Gracie back in 1954? The Judoka broke his fucking arm and the ignorant cunt still wouldnt tap out. A trained Judoka will fuck any of these pricks up trust me, one from Japan will own any shitty MMA fighter. Because they have been doing Judo since they were born. Just Judo, and they're masters at it. If you havent seen it yet i suggest u watch it, its here on u tube type in Kimura Gracie fight and watch as he fucks that BJJ up.

  • yeah your pretty iggnorant. if these judo masters are soo good then why arnt they fighting in the UFC? Judo is a martial art... MMA= mixed martial arts... so think of your faggot judo bitches with some boxing, wrestling, jiu jitsu, and muy thai skills. ohh and that gracie and kimura guy? yeah he didnt break his arm. and that jap was over 300 lb while gracie was 135 and they grappled for hours... gracies side through in the towel so his shoulder wouldnt get wrenched off, and after the fight....

  • STOP MAKING SHIT UP YOU FUCKTARD.

300 lb jap? There was a fucking 15 POUND WEIGHT DIFFERENCE.

Oh and that part about him talking about his skill after the match? its called being humble, dumbfuck
