The only thing i never liked about 928s were the 3 speed automatic trans. Although the 4 speed was alright. 5 manual was the best

Porsche made the 928 to be the replacement for the rear engine 911back in 1970 when it was still on the drawing board, but it didn't replace it. Nonetheless the 928 was then and is a now a supercar that can nearly outperform almost every modern day sportscar. The Mercedes automatic transmission is the best in the world bar none and is used in many porsche 928's.

Don't anyone knock the auto 928's unless you've driven one. I've buried 2 - 350Z's, gone toe-to-toe with a Ninja motorbike (he had to go up on the front wheel just to brake for a red light... lol). I've taken Mustang GT's (stock, not the Shelby's etc.), and Cadillac (300hp's). I beat ALL those standards because I lost them when they had to clutch & shift. I beat ALL the auto's because of handling (on an overpass a Mustang was in the race until he went up on 2 wheels... then he bailed).

this car in reasonable shape is a 5K-8k car.... at the most.

you can find the s4 in good shape with good miles on ebay for 10K, but many people do overprice them, but ive seen them for this price very often

This is my ultimate dream car... well the 928 GTS with it's 5.4 V8. But this video is a bit cheesy due to the music and the narrator. Bring in a track out of Rage Racer for the music & replace the narrator with a female and this is a great film. Also it's the NINE TWO EIGHT. Not the NINE TWENTY EIGHT as this narrator states. Seeeesh!

Way underrated car if you ask me. The 911 was way too unpredictable in handling. Not to mention this car had more power (V8) and more comfort since it was a GT. It was way ahead of its time. My favorite Porsche.

S4 or S2? Well, I got myself a GT which is virtually the same as a S4. S4 is probably more complex than the older models, but boy, they're beautiful !!! I'd say the S4 !
