The problem was not Halley Berry, except her horrible accent in the first movie, bur Bryan Singer.Berry did her research on Storm and knew she could do a lot more than what Singer allowed.She didn't like it in the first movie but realized it was more a Wolverine /Rogue movie. The second movie brought her into conflict with Singer over his misuse of the character, and led to her demanding more Storm using her powers more in X3. Singer left to do Superman, so we'll never know if he listened.

She finally flew and fired lightening bolts from her hands.I don't know if this was in Singer's story boards of the movie, but it did finally show Storm being Storm. I would have liked to see her be the kind of Weather Witch, Goddess, Wind Rider we saw in the comics, TAS & XM:E, I would have loved to see her do what Thor did in "Thor."Her control over the weather rivals his and in miniature form surpasses him.

Keep in mind, actors are short primarily. Naomi, would have rocked! Even at the age of 57, Grace was in better shape than all the previously mentioned actresses, but at 5'10. storms powers are mental, she has to command them mentally, and when she was worshipped as a goddess for years in africa that is how she summoned her powers fourth. Unlike wolverine or cyclops her powers must be contained not only when she summons them, but also while they are summoned, they must be yielded carefully, storms powers are still not yet fully understood, she seems to become part of the living earth and is an extenstion of its life force. its not as simple as shooting a beam or claw

OMG I JUST noticed something. I have the series on DVD in it’s original broadcast order and it’s no mystery that Iona Morris played Storm for the first season. If you watch the original series you see (and hear) that Iona Morris plays Storm during “The Days of the Future Past” but watching this you notice Storm is clearly played (or I should say ‘voiced’) by Alison Sealy Smith when she fights Nimrod at 1:20! You know you’re a hardcore obsessed fan when you realize stuff like that! LMAO!
