The cockpit audio was just released. Sullenburger said he couldn't close the, "fucking" cockpit door.

I think that's hilarous.

He crash-lands into the Hudson river...he's cool.

I read on the preliminary NTSB report that he was less than a 1000ft over the GW. The full report won't be out for a few more months I guess.

It's usually a year after a crash that the reports come out.

I saw this pilot on tv in an interview. He is the most calm person you can imagine. Even in the face of all of this danger he does not lose his cool, as you can plainly see here.

This is NOT a frequency recording. You wouldn't hear two air traffic controllers talking to each other on a frequency (unless both are pluged in and... 1) got stuck mics... or 2) one transmits and a second one is talking to someone else nearby and doesn't realize that EVERYONE can hear him). Controllers talk to each other on landlines and hotlines... NOT frequencies.

This IS a recording from the air traffic controller's (radar) position where all the action unfolded.

Controller should have realized something was up when he mentioned the Hudson twice before Teterboro. There's not much you can do with your engines out. He had no choice but to go in the Hudson. There was no other option with the plane in the condition it was in.
