This is just a 3d Opject projected on a glass surface nothing fancy tho, you can make this with a slightly absorb coating on a glass surface and a beamer.

actually i was there.. and it was no big deal.. its just a render of a rotating car proyected in a curved screen.. there were better things at siggraph..

a 2.5D video image projected onto a glass or plastic screen. 3D needs a true Z axis this image sequence is not even close to a Z axis
