My fellow was just telling me about a story he really loved, from when he was little...I think this is it! I'm happy now, because I get to show it to him.
I can't count how many times I woke up early for the Saturday ABC Morning Special to watch this movie. It was by far my favorite childhood movie! I can not believe that you're also behind Frog and Toad and Curious George, among other favorites. Thanks for making some of my favorite childhood memories :)
totally forgot it exists, just found a VHS in a pile of garbage, sounded familiar so i took it home. i totally remember watching this when i was a kid, what a trip.
I remember watching this movie over an over when I was like five and six, as well as the second one (which wasn't as good, in my opinion). I don't know what it was, perhaps just the thought that our toys were more than just toys, which was a fascinating idea to me back then. And Ralph was made very well, so cute. ^-^
I remember this vividly. The type of animation that tickled a child's imagination instead of bludgeoning it. So wonderfully faithful to the book, too. Really well done.
Definitely takes me back to Elementary School. It's funny how the imagination works, numerous people can read the same book and all have different interpretations lol

i've been looking for this movie for years, i saw it when i was a kid in school and i remember i begged my teacher to let me watch it again, finally i get to see at least a small partion of it, it brings back memories
Never knew they made this into a movie. I read the book at least once a year as a kid, and read it to my children when they were young. I'm going to see if I can find the video.
This was one of my favorite things to watch as a kid. My mom recorded it off the TV and I watched it over and over. I think I wore the VHS tape out because I watched it so frequently.
@JohnClarkMatthews I grew up watchin this t.v. show. I loved it! Now im almost 25 and I want my son to enjoy this as much as I did, Is their a TV Series DVD set I can purchase? I would love to get it. I'd pay anything to have this childhood memory alive again.
@sluggo06 im just guessing: maybe after we die, our souls raise up from our bodies and wonder the earth as ghosts. I heard from someone who went to a ghost town and they saw alot of ghost in the picture they took at the ghost town. They must be the souls of the people who died in the abandoned town. You will never knew.
i remember my 6th grade summer school teacher from lowell elementary i think his name was mr.griffin back in i think 89 anyway he showed us the cartoon version.i sure would love to see mr.griffin again.im on facebook look me up mr.griffin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this movie was awesome! I wanna watch it again but I can't find it in stores. I couldn't figure out the name of the movie .. when I found out I was like duh..
I'm sitting here, watching an old VHS tape with my Gf and am amazed at how funny, and great this movie is. I'm definitely taking this to show my daughter... I have a feeling shell fall in love with it as much as I have... they SERIOUSLY don't make movies like this anymore. I believe there is something special with stop motion animation that makes it more entertaining to watch than CGI.
Damn i remember waking up saturday mornings, and eating some Super Mario Cereal and watching this glued to the TV, while my mom cleaned the house. THANK GOD i was born in the 80's. There aren't any good Cartoons anymore on saturday mornings anymore, or any GOOD cartoons anymore. I also miss TGIF on ABC Friday Nights! (sigh) i miss my childhood.
Fred Savage was in Runaway Ralph, the second of three mouse shows. He got the part for the Wonder Years while working on the show. He was a very talented kid. J.C.M.
John: I was searching for the title of this movie I had seen in the 90s as a kid and didnd t take long after I put in : fred savage mouse movie....and BINGO! I found the title. somehow I thought he came out in it. but I don't see him in here ....maybe it was luck or I don't know
Thank you john clark, this is so awesome to be able to look back at old childhood shows! The nostalgic memories are flowing! Thanks again, great passion in stop animation!
@JohnClarkMatthews Wow , i remember reading all three of these books as a kid but i didnt know there was a movie ! Looks like ill be ordering these from Amazon

Wow....I remember watching this in the 2nd grade. My husband and I talk about our childhood memories and this is definitely one of them. Gotta love Ralph.

Not to long ago I was talking to this girl, and somehow I brought up old school shows like this one, Gumby and Clarissa explains it all etc.. She looked at me like wtf are you talking about? Thats when it hit me that im old now lol.. and then I carded her to make sure she was over 18 lmao.. CGI has its moments and all, but new generations totally missed out on the art of classics like these old school shows.
I remember how they would show it every 2 or 3 weeks on ABC on Saturdays after the cartoons went off. When I was small I considered it coming on as the official end to the cartoons that Saturday morning.
My girlfriend has a video cassette copy of this which I found while cleaning up her place. I flipped out when I found it. This brings back so many memories. ^_^ And it's true, now that I look at it, the stop motion animation is rather creepy.

I used to love this show as a kid. Rarely does CGI impress me anymore. More often than not, I prefer effects such as the one in this.
Legend is another movie that stills looks fantastic to this day that would be ruined if done nowadays with CGI.
