Did you ever try CCI 40 grain Standard Velocity 22 ammo?? That is all I shoot out of it..Great groups..I put Nill Grips on mine..Great upgrade..Thanks for the video...I also had my gun smith remove the Magazine safety.. The trigger is set at about 6 ounces..I have been able to put 6 shots almost in the same hole at 21 feet...(Open sights)..Yes I do shoot this gun a lot.. Take care..
thanks for making a informative quality video. Which barrel do you prefer to shoot? I'm leaning toward the 5.5" and can always pick up the 7" at a later date.
@mixflip Yea, they've always been VERY pricey. Making this model involves a lot of manufacturing process and metal. Even when they came out back when, they were expensive too. Mags today are $20-30... :-(
Hey, do you know how one of these would handle Federal ammo, iv got bricks of the stuff and I really dont want to have to go out and get diffrent ammo for it if it cant handle it for some reason, thanks.
@gunnut8 Federal Performance, the 325 pack seems to work very good. The regular federal value pack may give you some issues, but nothing you couldn't work through. May require a lighter recoil spring and the occasional failed primer to ignite.
@DonQuixotec I use CCI High Performance (HP) of higher velocity (Walmart ammo). I've had no malfunctions with factory recoil spring. I have had lots of issues with Federal and Winchester value 555 and 550 pack. All CCI has worked well for me thus far.
@humbleshogun Isn't high velocity ammo = hard punching ammo? We use CCI ammo in my pistol club too, but I don't remember the specifics if it is "standard" or HP or whatever.
@DonQuixotec Correct, The High Performance CCI will run at about 1200 ft/s allowing for more "performance" i.e. power for recoil. The CCI-minimags run even higher at around 1600 ft/sec. I haven't used standard velocity ammo so cannot comment. Are you experiencing malfunctions?
@humbleshogun I'm asking, cause I want to buy it :P But I don't want to buy it if it doesn't like standard velocity rounds. Is HP rounds more expensive?
Would you say to buy a gun, you need a permit for it? Or can you just go into the store and buy it?

Can you install fiber optic sights?
glockboy22 6 months ago
@glockboy22 Not easily. You'll have to modify the slide and drill out the sight. THere are companies that do this, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I've heard the recoil spring is too hard for CCI ammo, is this true?

@DonQuixotec What I meant to say was I heard it was too hard for anything but hard punching ammo.

@DonQuixotec I think you'll be fine with standard velocity. You can always get a reduced recoil spring for $5.00 and all should be well.

@humbleshogun Ah okay. Thanks for taking the time to answer my newbeginner questions :P
