i dont have a sterotype, but i have a story :D i went to my cousins in toronto and we set some fireworks off on a beach and we got hasseled.. hassled? haselled? irregardless, the cops were all "were going to give you a 300 $ fine, eh!" but we didnt know it was illegal, so we stopped, however! later that night, some cops down the beach set off fireworks and the same cops yelled at us again but we said it was the police so he got all mad at his buddies and said "oh well, you guys can light them"
