In New Mexico, after the new facial recognition drivers license law was passed, and the data base of everyone's faces was started, the people in Albuquerque found out about "other camera's", besides the red light one's. There are at least 20 other camera's that were secretly mounted throughout the city to watch the people (well .. not secret anymore). They are maned 24/7 by the authorities . They said it's for our protection. Yes, the watching post is equipped with facial recognition software.

No viruses, no spyware, no built-in tracking software, very stable, brilliant community supporting it and nowadays easy to use also. There are many flavors but I suggest you try one that is for beginners like Linux Mint. Need help? ask me.

No system is 100% secure, but Linux is built to be secure. It is completely open. Vulnerabilities are fixed promptly and being open, no malicious code can get in.

Windows has so many holes that anyone can break into your system if they really wanted to. To top it off Windows has phone home 'features' and with Windows 7 geo-tracking 'features'.
