Burger King advertised their products back then as 'Have it Your way' like McDonald's was foreign to the idea of substitutions and/or exclusions or something. I was never turned down at McDonald's if I asked for my food in a different fashion than how they served it usually. As a matter of fact, I found out in 1988 when I worked at McD's as a teenage that this was called a 'grill order' and it came out on a ticket in the grill area printed like a receipt.

Yes, and funny enough, I can even recall thinking back when this commercial was new, "what are they talking about?" It's just typical commercial flim flam.
