@azureisacolor The reason you shouldn't waste time comparing Failure and Nirvana is because they are two very different bands, not because one is "better" than the other.
Is this album still in print or is the only way of me securing a copy of this fantastic gem to find it used? I know I can get it on iTunes but I'm old school; I like to own a copy of my CD.
Goddammit - this is such a monster of a song! All these bands guilty of senseless fretboard masturbation, thinking they're the next YES, could learn a thing or twelve from this song. Hell, you don't need more than three or four ingredients to make an omelette. But dammit - you need to know how to cook!
Simple, perfect songwriting, structure, pacing. Fuckin' miss this band.
i think nirvana was no genius in anything unstead failure. the story of success is bullshit. More power than nirvana, more intelligent, deep, and finally just rock.
They didn't have this album in my country anywhere, even in the music stores, so i made my people a favour and ordered this and *Fantastic Planet* to my local library as a *very important thing* :) To my surprise, both of these albums are now always borrowed and even reserved in the library and i was the first one to borrow them!
@EyeEyeWitness - "it's just too bad I didn't know them when they were still around."
DITTO. We can blame radio... i was a radio junkie in the 90s (when there was actually good music to listen to on the radio), & they hardly EVER played these guys :-/ I vaguely remember seeing the video to "Stuck on You", but not often enuff for it to stick.

I love both of these bands, because I see them as different from each other.
I can see why they would be compared to Nirvana back when this album was new, but they really were different.

It reminds me of the joke:
What has more brains than Kurt Cobain?
The wall behind him.

Kurt and Ken were both musical geniouses. About the only thing in common.
