  • I just don't hear the supposed similarities to Mastodon at all. I hate mastodon except that song they did for the ATHF movie, well 'hate' is a really strong word, I'm not a fan though... Yet this band is among my favorites.

  • this realy great song everything is perfect how they use the effects on the guitar sound

the hole band is f*cking awesome

  • i 'll be great that you come to Mexico!!!

  • this song is fucking awesome!!!!!

  • i have yet 2 hear a bad song from this band...they're that good/great

  • I love the middle part...its like a homage to The Wolf is Loose...and there's a dash of Pendulous Skin in the intro.

  • this is f#*@&ing awesome???!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought i was listening to Pendulous skin at first.

  • @big24ern Seriously. Intros incredibly lacking in the originality department. Still beautiful, and love all Baroness records, but they couldn't have made the influences more apparent if they tried.

  • @TheLastbAaron Ok, wow, no.

Not only does this sound NOTHING like pendulous skin, except the fact its acoustic and its picking pattern, but its the same genre of music, so yeah, eventually songs will sound familiar.

Seriously, I love mastodon, but if its going to draw retards into the sludge genre who start the "Oh this band's a rip-off" thing, I will stop listening to them.

  • @MrThembones LOL, you think I care if you listen to a band? Really? lol cmon. Sludge it may be but the elements and tinges that Brent and the guys in Mastodon put on it forever changed what constitutes "sludge metal". Baroness realized this, and jumped on the bandwagon as soon as they could. Smart move. I love Baroness, immensely. But fact is fact.

  • @TheLastAaron Fact is fact? Dude, you're making shit up. Can you even play these songs on guitar? Oer hell and hide is in C tuning, while pendulous skin is in D, that alone should shut you up. Littered about red and blue? Its two albums, pal. I hear very little similarity between mastodon and baroness. Baroness shows far more southern influence and sludge, while mastodon is more progressive and traditional. Are you new to this genre? Go listen to Zoroaster, Red Fang, Sleep, Om, then talk.

  • @MrThembones HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.........HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...Oh fuck sorry I thought you were actually serious that this is nothing like mastodon... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...fuck me mate you are either thick as fuck or in denial that Baroness are complete rip off artists!

  • @duzzman69 Mastodon has apparently hit too mainstream, seeing as how the fanboy brigades have broken out. I suppose Earth is a rip off of Pelican, as well? Baroness does not sound anything like Mastodon. Different guitar tuning and song structure. Their only similarities are they are both prog sludge. Not only that, but Mastodon has changed between each album, so you must be retarded to say a band is ripping off the sound of a band with changing sounds. Quit listening to sludge, go back to tool.

  • @MrThembones Haha how does tuning or song structure make up a bands style? point is that if you showed this to someone who'd heard neither band straight after a Mastodon song they probably wouldn't know it was a different band! Actually try it and see what happens! Fucking tuning... So if, for example, Metallica tune down for Sad But True do they then become a different fucking band? Oh yeah and, for the record, i can't "go back to tool" as I'd rather suck my own dad off than listen to them.

  • @duzzman69 "how does song sructure make up a bands style" Wow that defines musical stupidity pretty well.

So I guess Solitude Aeturnus is a rip off of Candlemass? Judas Preist so for Iron Maiden? Youve got some extremely flawed logic.

  • @MrThembones Completely agree with everything your saying, minus that you say Mastodon and Baroness sound nothing like each other. the similarites are there for sure. Can't deny it, but yes they are a different entity than Mastodon. They fact that they are from the same location and the same scene is what makes them similar. Mastodon being from Atlanta, and Baroness being from Savannah. Georgia pumps out some sick bands for sure, Black Tusk and Kylesa being just a couple as well!

  • @MrThembones But fact is fact. There are innumerable similarities in the music of Baroness after Mastodon released Leviathan (what I believe ultimately drove Baroness to become a band) and even furthermore Blood Mountain. They are littered all about Red and Blue. Not a bad thing, dude. All great bands have their influences, the others they initially take material from when evolving and defining their sound. Red and Blue are Freshmen and Sophmore efforts, respectively...

  • @MrThembones ... And I trust that Baroness will continue to branch out and come to hold a sound of their own. Because they're that good of a band.

  • @Metitanium Correction the ALBUM is a trip of its own.

  • And screw the people who write that this is the worst track on the album. They must be smoking BAD weed.

  • I think the reason I keep listening to these guys is the drummer. The vocals aren't enjoyable or creative, or varied, and I can get guitar just like this with Pelican. But that drummer. His work is just so . . . interesting.

  • @vestirge TRUTH!

  • Stoner Fact: If you stare at this for three songs, you will realize that the album art depicts two very sexual lesbians with an underwater view. The symbolism is writ everywhere. First you see that they are naked and "wet", then you notice the younger one is "eating a fish". Then you notice the elder woman is standing with broken eggs, of course! Because she cannot reproduce and therefore her "eggs are going to waste" My logic is bullet proof!

  • @awakenedone92 yeah you truly got it :-D

  • @awakenedone92 your idea sounds great, but in my opinion the artcover, is about a virgin, and the other represents a force of nature, as the the first one who is on he left is a virgin since she has a halo on here head, and the broken eggshell as aphallic symbol pointing to her womb that she is pregnant and the the other I have not yet analized completely yet, but they are opinions john baizley does not like to explain most of his paintings as he said in an interview

  • It sounds so much like Mastodon's Pendulous Skin in the beginning.

  • OMG It sounds just like Pendulous Skin! I'm so happy I found this band!!!! ;D

  • this is not a rip off of mastodon at all (look up pendulous skin)

  • Disco style drumming in a metal song?! I think this is what they call innovation! Send in the clowns!!!

  • lol disco drums in a metal song? why i think this is innovation! bring out the clowns!!!

  • DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN DUN DIKA DUN

  • @Desuburger34 You forgot the snare roll

  • Have baroness never played this live? If that's the case then it's a goddamn shame!!

  • @Chainedown i saw them and this song was their encore. I was a miracle.

  • come to montreal you fuckers!

  • Superb!

  • when the four horsemen arrive to this world, this song will be on the background

  • @santiagoeag Well sad sir, i bow before you. <3
