oh my god I love you thanks for this man. Finally some tracks to play to without feeling back about hitting maybe one of out every seven notes SRV is playing at the time
Yeah I know...the thing is I know he plays it in G but down tune half tone so I started playing it in G standard tuning. I know it will be the same in F# ;-)
Sorry, lowbottomranch, but you're wrong. It's in the key of G flat (or F sharp, though it is better to say G flat) but if you were tuned down half a step, you'd still be playing it in G flat because the backing track's key doesn't change just because you tune your guitar down (it's still the same recording!). Maybe you meant you would be playing with the first position of the pentatonic scale on the third fret instead of the second, which is G flat in standard tuning? Never in F, though.
It's written in G major, but he tunes his guitar a half-step lower than written. So it's in F-Sharp (another comment says G-flat; sure, they're enharmonics, but the key signitures are different. F-sharp is six sharps, and G-flat is six flats).
its the same because the sharps and flats of the keys are also enharmonic equivilents. its odd to hear guitarists call this key g flat, i guess i am old school and call it f sharp. isnt foolish bantering fun?
I just think this is an awkward key to play in, considering the fact that there's so many sharps. I play trombone, and I had to sightread a piece...in E! I felt sorry for trumpets, flutes, and saxes most of all.
it doesn't matter how you call it, but technically g flat would be more appropriate here because SRV wrote it in G and he tuned down half a step, so g flat is more logical.
awesome! i only wish it was for standard tuning in G, not F#, since my guitars are all in standard tuning. either way, that's a cool backing track. thanks!
hes talking about the key the songs in the song is in g but since the song is normally a half step down that would make it in f# but all of these backing tracks you put up are in standard so i do not know what hes talking about
@branch1234 I think the opening chord is Gb Major but I was playing a Gb blues scale and it sounded bad ass. I'd say the song is not in a major key but if the song is in a Major key it would be Ab?
F# minor.

Hi Tiago! I really like your work, but is there any chance you can upload some tracks with Stevie's vocals? Thanks!

@weepingeye poverty sucks - ask Obama for a cheque for a few billion, he is quick with the cash, maybe you get some too?

Great, now just play to this backing track with your guitar behind your back!

This is not a SRV song. This song was originally written by the great and very underrated Blues man Larry Davis and not SRV.

Dude, you are clearly mistaken. This is obviously played on a seven string dropped three half steps and played at the 10th position.

don't think so, stevie used 6 string
