Why is it stereotyped that teen drivers are all terrible. Obviously they have less experience but Im 18 and been driving for a year without any incidents, and me and my friends are all very careful when driving because of the ridiculous insurance costs, most accidents are caused by people who have been driving for a while and become slightly to confident and complacent about there driving and then lose respect for how dangerous driving can be.

This video sucks. If an adult sent me this when I first started driving I would just think they were a bitch for infering that I am more likely to wreck. How about this, if your son/daugther gets a sports car, then get them on the track early and have them do some autocross and gymkhana. That way they realize that the road is for transportation and the track is for fun. Also, everytime they tap that cone they may realize that could be a guard rail or another car on the real road.
Well look I'm 17 and my first car was a 93 civic SI. My parents had alot trust in me and all which is good and I start hitting the drags slip and I raced once on the road and never again. It's alot better then the roads cause you know you won't get caught and you have small chances to crash.

I have an evo x and I participate mostly in autocross. I may buy something with a large engine for the dragstrip though. No offense for me hating on the civic.
It's ok but i just wanted to have the feeling of racing on the drag strip. I only beat a ford probe v6 but I beat everybody on the reaction time. I was on average .5 to .6

My car could probably make a low 11 maybe even a high ten if I drove it great, but I've never been on that kind of track and it looks slick and I don't want all the rednecks laughing at me.

I used to believe that too when I was a teen, but than I do remember alot of teen drivers I was with, who shouldn't have been driving. Gaining experience is really the key. A few lessons does not make a good driver. Teen or adult.

Sure I do, but it's stupid. Showing images of crashed cars doesn't make anyone better drivers. People will still do stupid things, whether trying to be careful or not. As you said yourself, it only comes with experience.
So showing teens what could happen is stupid? Interesting. I don't think it's stupid at all, I think it's a powerfull lesson to show them what could happen as a result of their actions. Should they choose to drink and drive. A car is a heavy piece of machinery, one that could be deadly. It's not a toy.
If ANYONE is so stupid as to not know what happens when a heavy object collides with something, they should not be driving. It's common sense; showing pictures of it shouldn't change one's view of how serious driving must be taken.
You really believe teens think about this stuff? I didn't when I was a teenager. I certainly wouldn't expect them too either, and if this can be a lesson to them, what harm is it? We had a guy in my school who thought he was really cool, cause he liked to speed, that guy today is a mentally challenged adult who will always need hospital care. Why is it stereotyped that teen drivers are all terrible. Obviously they have less experience but Im 18 and been driving for a year without any incidents, and me and my friends are all very careful when driving because of the ridiculous insurance costs, most accidents are caused by people who have been driving for a while and become slightly to confident and complacent about there driving and then lose respect for how dangerous driving can be.

This video sucks. If an adult sent me this when I first started driving I would just think they were a bitch for infering that I am more likely to wreck. How about this, if your son/daugther gets a sports car, then get them on the track early and have them do some autocross and gymkhana. That way they realize that the road is for transportation and the track is for fun. Also, everytime they tap that cone they may realize that could be a guard rail or another car on the real road.

Well look I'm 17 and my first car was a 93 civic SI. My parents had alot trust in me and all which is good and I start hitting the drags slip and I raced once on the road and never again. It's alot better then the roads cause you know you won't get caught and you have small chances to crash.

yeah man, that's the way to do it. I'm not sure how that fwd did at the dragstrip against all the rwd muscle cars lol, but it's alot better than the road! I've actually never drag raced before. I have an evo x and I participate mostly in autocross. I may buy something with a large engine for the dragstrip though. No offense for me hating on the civic.

I feel you. I still bet it was fun. That's the only reason I don't want to go to a dragstrip yet. I'm afraid of embarassing myself. My car could probably make a low 11 maybe even a high ten if I drove it great, but I've never been on that kind of track and it looks slick and I don't want all the rednecks laughing at me.

You really believe teens think about this stuff? I didn't when I was a teenager. I certainly wouldn't expect them too either, and if this can be a lesson to them, what harm is it? We had a guy in my school who thought he was really cool, cause he liked to speed, that guy today is a mentally challenged adult who will always need hospital care. If this or any of the other video's can stop a teen from making a mistake, than I say it's all good.
