  • How come the kids that suck get huge kits, and the good drummers like you are stuck with trash? (no offence)

  • @drummerdude476

I don't know if that's true, but as long as the skins aren't split, you can practice!

  • LOOKS LIKE MITCH MITCHELL, and PLAYS LIKE MITCH MITCHELL. DUDE GET THIS GUY A GIG IN A JIMI HENDRIX TRIBUTE BAND!

  • You're great Shambles!!!!!!!!!

  • Mitch would be proud.

  • Holy SHIT!

  • Inspired & excellent playing!!! One of the best covers of 'Fire" I've ever heard. I play in a cover band & we're gonna do that song & your video is one I'm gonna use to help me. You have a very good feel & I'm 54 years old & have no problem saying I'd love to be able to play like that.

  • @scamp3464

Thank you scamp, it's my pleasure Dear Boy!

  • are you in a band? and if so whats it called cause im sure its pretty badass hah

  • First Moonie, then Mitch Mitchell... Man you just keep suprising me. Congrats

  • What rolls and rudiments are used in this song? Great cover too

  • @metalmilitia137

    Not a clue, but thanks!

  • @metalmilitia137 Don't think about it. Just rock on! That's what Mitchell did when he was recording this song. Improvisation gives drumming a whole new level

  • @finnmick96 yeah thats what ive been doing, i just got a set and i seem to have a feel for it. i know i should learn drum songs by sheet music someday, but songs like these just come to me. its fun improvising too!

  • BEAST enough said!!

  • Keith Moon moved his arms just a bit yet nobody dare criticise him! Nice playin man!

  • Man, your moves are sweet! Any guitarrist and bassist would be happy to play with you! You push the song to the limit, like Mitch. KEEP THE AWESOMENESS!

  • Everything is perfect! Even though the pause at 1:56 was unecessary, it felt proper. I would've done the same thing but continued with a REALLY LOUD drum roll (since it was the last chorus). Anyway, AWESOME WORK!!!

  • good job man.

  • @babyshambler

Nah i kinduv noticed your nose like after but it was the mop top and how your eyes looked. Nice playing bro, loved it

  • This guy reminds me of ringo starr

  • @SuperAllcapsrage

It's my big nose and mop top, isn't it!

  • @babyshambler i'd say its your unique playing style

  • Dude I have to say you are on it and whatever you are on can I have some of it also loved the 100 Mile High cover keep up the good work

  • @SuperAllcapsrage You wot?

  • I was so happy after watching this and seeing some great drumming, then i saw the comments from some of you retards saying about moving too much or whatever. Who the hell do you think you are, this guys a great drummer and he can move as much as he wants unlike you who i bet is someone who plays "the proper way" which was just shown to you by some washed up teacher in a classroom. Some of the best drummers of all time werent taught and definitely moved alot because music is feel, not still arms

  • @roylett

They'd probably say I walk funny as well.

  • @babyshambler You should do Break on through to the Other side mate. you'll officially be a legend.

  • whats this? the second coming of Kieth moon?

  • Wow! You NAILED it, Sir! Thanks for posting this. Very entertaining and your talent is quite obvious. Great Job!

  • magic!!!

  • Amazing cover

  • Even when playing jimi hendrix, you look, sound and play like keith moon! Strange... BUT HUGELY EFFECTIVE!!!!

  • @iraniandrummer97

I'll take that as a high compliment, thanks Iranian!

  • He is great! I like his drumming!^^

  • God!! i think you did a great version of this song .. wish i could play this good and ive been playing drums on and off for a few years .. you play drums like there meant to be played (not with the feet all the time) i'm sure Mich would love your drum version, thanks for posting it.

  • You all didn't understood me !

The motion should come from the wrist not from the whole arm ! (That makes the elbow the "Drumming part").

Of course u can and should "dance" w/ your body to the beat or so ...

but you aren't suppose to drum from anywhere else but the wrist...

  • the fill at 0:48 is SICK.

  • Comment removed

  • I bet this was a bitch to learn

  • @ChoochEngineering

I've never really 'learned' it. You'll see (and hear) I don't play it like Mitchell did. I'm just a fan and have heard it so many times I know some of the more basic fills etc =)

  • WOW Your Friggin IN-CRED-I-BLE

  • pretty dirty

  • Dude, you move to much with unnecessary

    parts of your body =P

    6/10

  • @gaviezri

Unnecessary body parts?! Maybe my appendix..

  • @gaviezri There is no 'move to much' with music, bud. Don't say shit like that too, because you can scare some people out of wanting to play.

Have you ever seen how much Elton John's eyebrows move? Necessary?

  • @gaviezri Wow dude it's for show. You gotta get the song right and keep time, like he did, and then you also need to get some bonus points for show.

  • @gaviezri 6/10 for moving too much? hes playing the fucking drums....

  • @theekoolaidman But You need to play from your hand wrists only !!! so yea ! im studying with one of vinnie's friends and the lessons from him are fucking amazing, so believe me

  • @gaviezri

"Need" is debatable because it's clearly possible to not do so. I understand it's good practice though.

  • @gaviezri It's called style, you douche-booth.

  • @gaviezri um so you want him to sit without showing no soul or emotion while playing drums. thats like telling keith moon not to play pal.

  • @gaviezri Id like you to say that to steve gadd when hes practically hopping up and down in his seat while hes playing. He would tell you to fuck off probably lol.

  • holy shit....

  • я охуеваю от постановки рук....это пиздос:)

  • @XAP0HT

I tried to get a translation but it was clearly not accurate. But..spasiba!

  • @babyshambler

i sad, you should track your hands.Qualitatively.

  • Its the best interpretation of fire ive found on you tube, lets see your version cathoderoy

  • Go back and listen to the song a couple of dozen times.

  • @cathoderoy

    Why?

  • @babyshambler I assume that by uploading yourself on YouTube you're expecting some sort of reaction from people when they see it, right? Well, my advice is if you want to play it the way it should be played, or how Mitch Mitchell did it, you have to learn the rolls a little better, and that's the way to learn 'em, listen over and over 'til you get it right...unless you don't really give a shit, then fuck it...

  • @cathoderoy

I genuinely didn't know why you'd suggested it, that's all. I'd never claim to be as good as Mitchell and don't learn any song as per the original recording, it's too limiting. You're right about being cautious when it comes to responding to praise, it's just you sound a little angry when you say it.

  • @babyshambler Yeah, I get it, I just read some of the comments from people praising you....don't believe them, they don't know what the fuck they're talking about...if you listen to that kind of bullshit, you'll never get anywhere, unless you want to bullshit yourself...it needs work, my friend, believe it or not...

  • @cathoderoy

you do know ir is called a cover for a reason i dont know anyone who plays there stuff exactly note from note without switching something up

  • @H1GhVoL7aGe First of all, I can play that song note for note, which I don't think is such a big deal, because I learned it when I was twelve, and I don't see the point of even uploading a clip of you playing along w/ something unless you're trying to show how close you come to emulating the original...why would you play along to somebody else's song unless you want to improve on it, or mimic it, and I'm not sure if Mitch Mitchell's playing on this particular song CAN be improved on..seriously.

  • @cathoderoy

You've contradicted yourself there Cathoderoy. You say you shouldn't do your own version but then say why bother unless you want to improve upon it? You'd struggle to do both. I'd hate to play these beautiful songs the same way every time. I could attempt this 100 times and it's be different on every single take. Anyway, why so serious - I play these songs because it's fun as fuck and I love the music. I'd never claim to be as good as Mitchell.

  • @babyshambler You can do whatever the fuck you want, as far as I'm concerned, but I don't think anyone should be praised by all these people, or BELIEVE that you deserve the type of adulation you're getting unless it's warranted...therefore, I suggested you play it more closely to the original...you also misinterpreted what I stated were good reasons for posting yourself doing a cover, either doing it as precisely as possible, OR improving it, the ONLY reason for doing it differently...cont...

  • @babyshambler I also acknowledged that IMPROVING on Mitch Mitchell's classic performance was unlikely, but if you wanted to give it a shot, you're welcome to do it...that would be considered doing it differently, and still a valid reason for posting it...posting anything less than an exact simulation, or something you think is an improvement, however unlikely, are the only circumstances under which I would post a video of myself covering that tune...I think you're looking for praise, personally.

  • @babyshambler There's nothing wrong with wanting an ego boost, I was warning you that taking everything people say to heart isn't necessarily conducive to furthering your ability...I admit, it felt good when I did it live and people said it was great....but people writing things like: "Even after years of listening to Jimi and Mitch, I think I still like your version better!!!", "You fucking legend!!", "Perfect!!!!" or "This is the best cover on YouTube!", etc. aren't gonna help you a bit, sorry

  • @cathoderoy

You presume I'm susceptible to these comments. I'm not. Good luck replacing your bass skin..

  • @babyshambler O.K., sorry to go all Simon Cowell on you...actually, he'd probably praise you, check out the video of some little moron playing fucking "WIPEPOUT", the easiest drum song ever, on Britain's Got Talent, or whatever the fuck it is, and Simon fucking shitting his pants!! It's ridiculous..the know-it-all knows shit....anyway, that's all I'll ever write on this...but I might post myself playing it to shut a couple of people up that dared me, the only other reason to post it...

  • @cathoderoy

okay mister high and mighty lets see your cover thats so "note from note" like you said you can play it? huh? shut up your making your self seem like a fool. you troll on peoples videos yet i see no drum covers on your page? I think your full of shit honestly just another troll with no skill and no life

  • @H1GhVoL7aGe What makes you think I have no life? I don't feel the necessity to show off to people I don't even know. I know I can do it, a lot of people do.....but I can't resist a challenge...however, I ripped a big hole in my bass drum a few months ago, and I haven't gotten around to replacing it...I'll post a clip as soon as I can. By the way, the only reason I ended up watching videos of drummers doing this is I was looking for footage of Mitch, and I couldn't resist the other clips...

  • This is easily the best cover of this song that I've seen. You packed the power and groove on this song with a hodgepodge tiny drumset better then those who have a large professional setup. Well done.

Besides the sound I'd just advise you to spread the set around give your arms some room to work with and I bet you'll be able to glide a little more but other than that you got a great groove their man

  • he actually kinda looks like mitch mitchell when he has his mouth open

  • the sound is fine fuck what they say

  • The sound quality is that good but you are nasty

  • that ruled to watch

  • You just humbled mitch mitchell, nice cover dude, really good

  • That's Keith Moon!

  • Mister, you have got the goods to pay justice to these classic greatest drummers of all time. Keith, Mitch, etc. Really great stuff. Thanks for keeping the flame.

  • You are probably better than me on the drums.

  • @dueypupboy911

Well get practising then Duey! Have fun, man.

  • @babyshambler, I am getting better though. I can play "Achilles Last Stand" and "Hello, Goodbye" on the drums. PROGRESS!!!

  • Tell you what Chris, 3 years later and I still love this video to death!!! Even after years of listening to Jimi and Mitch I think I still like your version better!!! Definitely got a bit of Keith in there with a jazz overtone. Love it!!

  • one edit!

during the 'move over rover, and let jimi take over' part, you must play on the ride and not the hi-hat!

awesome cover man but sound sucks

  • @emetosproductionz

I didn't play the 'move over rover' part on HH, I kind of rode the bell of my crash. You're right about the sound though.

  • thanks man :) you helped me get an A* on my music GCSE thanks alot

  • This is the illest drum cover of Fire I've ever seen

  • @MaXCKY

I had to check if that was a compliment or not. Thanks!

  • one of the best covers of fire IVE EVER SEEN... thnks to u imma put my own cover up :D

  • This guy is incredible.

  • This is the best cover on youtube! and you look and play like Mitch Michell!

  • Hellz Ya!!! you nailed it and then killed it........nice job.

  • Excellent.

  • Holy shit it's Keith Moon

  • @jarek1117 Nah dude, it's Mitch Mitchell!

  • rubberevolver, he might be playing along to hendrix ok.... But he is no mitch mitchell go and listen to some of mitchell's playing he's a long way off that... and keith moon..

  • @julie223783

    Aye, miles off.

  • @babyshambler Still good though i think it would help if you relaxed more and a better kit - i know this can be expensive...keep going tho! -

  • at 1:35 he lost the track ..

  • perfect !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Since u can play like Mitch Mitchell and Keith Moon u should do some beatles covers

  • @RubbeRevolver7740

I have Ringo's nose. I might do the Abbey Road medley some day.

  • ...ottimo!!!

  • @TheBBoy69

    Grazie!

  • You look like a cross between Ringo Starr and Keith Moon

  • looks scripted.... good drummin though

  • @kenbo76

    What do you mean scripted?

  • @kenbo76 what does scripted mean? it's a cover.

  • Mitch would be proud

  • your rolls blow my mind dude

  • Great job babyshambler. Mitch Mitchell's drum parts were as integral to this song as Jimi's guitar playing. If you like Mitch Mitchell, you should check out Robert Wyatt's drumming on the first four albums of 60s prog rock band Soft Machine, who in their early years, often shared the bill with Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix Experience.

  • Holy Smokes , I am just learning this, and let me say you TORE IT UP, Very nicely played, keep it up you do the drumming community a great service by posting these videos,

    Peace from Michigan

  • Hey, I was just looking for some drum part to Fire so I could play along, and I noticed that not only do you have incredible taste, you are really good at playing the drums. You, my friend, are a freaking cool cat.

  • reminds me so much of keith moon, you've got a future in this man, keep it up!:)

  • DUDE YOU FUCKING GOT IT! You have it. The Proverbial "It". You have it!

  • dude seriously. youre an incredible drummer. you totally get it. keep it up

  • Siick

  • Yes

  • Nice job....Love all the rolls. I play too and its always fun to see the facial expressions drummers make. You do move like Keith Moon and make the same faces.

  • @StowAlex

I tend to look like a mardy little chimp when attempting an ambitious fill.

  • Possessed by Keith Moon! rock on dude!

  • I agree with haksause

  • need work on technique, where to hold the sticks, basic bounce techniques and rudiments. Have fun. :)

  • Finally, a cover of this song where the person playing it can actually keep time with the song. Fucking, awesome man. Best cover out there.

  • this kinda guy all over the world are being overshadowed by fags that girls like, aww man there's a lot of talent in our genertaio but why?!! why?!!WHY?!!!?!

  • Unreal!!!

  • Bloody hell, i'd love to be playing my bass alongside this guy !

  • My favourite drummer in youtube :))

  • In addition to the record, are you playing to a click? I hear something else back there.

By the way, you're amazing lad. Come over to the States and make lots of money.

  • Why cant i find a consitant playing of Fire? Also good job! You set reminds me of my first kit.

  • how in the hell do people hold on to stick with the butt of it in there palm? <3 traditional grip

  • Keith Moon incarnate!

    Go Babyshambler

  • 0:49 love that fill

  • Twice the hype and you could be Keith Moon

  • you have a stile of playing like keith moon

  • shit whered you learn to play like mitch are you self taught?

  • Best drum cover iv seen all th others sound okay but no close to Mitch but yours is the closest and very clean. Good job.

  • u look like my friend russel

  • you on fire man!!

  • Were it in my power, he would be on a new top notch kit! Rock on kid....Rock on!

  • awesome man!thats what drumming should sound like!

i am an everyday experience listener and i can tell that you are really good.

    i wish i could drum like that...^^

  • Awesome video dude! I like your energy!

  • Now that's what I call tight like a virgin! :O

    That was great!

    Freakin' thumbs up, mate :)

  • It pisses me off how this amasing drummer is playing on a frankenstien kit while terrible metal drummers get top notch gear worth thousands.

oh, and you kinda look like ringo.

  • @haksause i hear you man, the majority of metal drumming after a while just turns into speed, which is cool if you can do it. But theres just so much more potential on a drum kit then just blasts and seeing how many double bass notes you can jam into a bar of 4/4

  • @enjoi4212

Metal drumming is still very impressive though, even if it lacks a 'human' element to it (to my ears, anyway).

  • @haksause

The drummers you mention obviously have self-image issues, and forget that it's not the size of the kit...it's how you use it. :-)

Babyshambler...you wanna take a crack at the live performance of Hey Baby/In from the Storm that TJHE did at Maui?

  • @haksause

nothing wrong with frankenstein kits, its in the drummer not the drums,

    Peace

  • this is very enjoyable im a bass player who plays along to this mans video's

  • brilliant man

  • Accurate fills probably even better, plays like Mitch Mitchell, expressions are like Mitch Mitchell, and looks like Mitch Mitchell also! a genuine retro drummer! the ghost of Mitch Mitchell is in you my friend. Get this guy a gig on some Jimi Hendrix Experience tribute band!

  • 34 people need some sense knocked into them - we should use their heads as drums instead.

  • And this goes straight to my playlist.

  • Amazing bro. Just a suggestion but I would be eternally grateful if you made some instructional videos. You are a beast.

  • that was like, really good bro. at first I thought it was going to be awful but then i realized how awesome it sounded.

  • Mitchell...Bonham...Moon...BABYSHAMBLER

  • STILL!! my fav vid on youtube!!!

  • hah so nice how you nail the feel!

  • Ringo Look-A-Like with Mitchell's Skills, yeah :D

  • Bloody great stuff to watch - makes me wana play some drums!

  • Nice job indeed!

  • Great snare chops - Mitch would be proud!

  • Really good job

  • sick drumming man

  • I love this style ! These lot of rolls ... straigt cymbals, chatchy snare whos freaking out around

  • your style is so sick dude iv been looking for a adrummer like you if your ever in toronto lets jam

  • Bleasure to jam around to this shit. Well done!

  • I've praised this performance before.. but I gotta say it again..!!

Ohhhhh!!!.. if I could play the skins.. I'd wanna play like this dude! FOR REAL!! :-)

  • congratz from mexico! good job man!
