Urban Terror on the Dreamcast.

Urban Terror started as a mod for Quake III Arena (which is available on the DC)

but later became a standalone game and therefore free (check it out its fun).

@ZWIPPMANN Actually, the Dreamcast still has a thriving homebrew community. You can download any Dreamcast game you want within a few minutes for free. You can also emulate many systems. The Dreamcast didn't need a modchip to play backups. For $10, that's worth it.

CS had new code and its own new gameplay. CS was never Half-Life single player with models lamely replaced like this effort.

Please stop. The guy was just building off of the beta release of half life. Look up counterstrike, it was indeed a mod for half life. Based off most of the same code, and using the same engine. Just like portal, it indeed is a half life mod, however, most deny that.

As much as I love the dreamcast and hate the PS2, the dreamcast came before the PS2 and is less powerful. The dreamcast only has 16mb of ram btw.

please dreamcast have similar grafics than ps2 and just using a driver gdrom while ps2 use dvd roms and the dreamcast game are normal cd roms can u imagine have the same grafics using a cd rom vs dvd rom

I HAVE A DREAMCAST. I develop for it. I make games for it! It is a wonderful platform. It DID NOT have better graphics, it had the same graphics. However, it's GD-ROM disks couldn't store as much data as a DVD. Please, review the facts. The dreamcast has 16MB of ram, and a GD-rom drive, the PS2 had a DVD drive and 32Mb of ram. The Dreamcast had awesome games, but it was judged on it's specs. The dreamcast is not as powerful as the ps2. Just stop the fanboyism please!

Nope. The direamcast had better games though. And best of all games are still being developed for it. I just got a new game in the mail today!

You cant make a comparison spec for spec, ps2 fan boy.

The different architecture of the two systems makes their use of system resources completely different.

Essentially the two systems were equal, the main difference being the dreamcast was far more inventive.

@AdsTheRatz what crackhead universe do you live in? the ps2 has dvd memory(4.7gb of data storage) vs 1.2gb for the dreamcast,twice the ram ps2=32mb,dreamcast=16,and the cpu of the ps2 was 297mhz 64 bit the dreamcast was 32bit 200 mhz. the sp2 had basically twice the power

@AdsTheRatz Dude I know you made this comment 1 year ago, but I have to agree with you the Dreamcast is a little more powerful then the PS2. If you see the games that where ported to the PS2 from the Dreamcast they look a little bit better on the Dreamcast. I don't know why but it's true some one needs to do a battle of the ports for Dreamcast and PS2, I'm barely going to by a Dreamcast this month from Amazon and I don't own a PS2 so I can't do it. Anyways just letting you know I agree.

what it means unless a games is unusually cpu intensive.

the dreamcast will perform better as a games machine.

plus the dreamcast is a much better design all in, including as standard many off the thing the ps2 as standard left out like internet capabilities, a web browser, 4 controller ports, etc.

i like both the dreamcast is far better, but the ps2 has the largest game base going back to the ps1

Counter-Strike for Dreamcast looks a lot different from Counter-Strike for PC.
