what are some of the differences between NTSC and NTSC-J-like in terms of picture and sound?

region code on consoles,, its like ntsc for US and ntsc-j for japan,, if your console is made from japan it will play ntsc-j games and will not play ntsc games and vice versa

unless your ps2 has a modchip it can play all regionsntsc, ntsc-j ,PAL you name it =D
