Say my sound guy was to run a tascam dr-05 with the bluetooth sender and headphones. Would he be able to moniter the sound and Would my 550D add the AGC after it is relayed to the mic input on the camera?

@JulianKooijmans I would recommend using 2 sets at the same time. Bluetooth devices go a little crazy if to many other bluetooth signals are around.

@dshrode16 Going to give that try today. Heading over to radio shack to pick up a cheap-o lapel microphone. The nice lapel mic's I have around the house all require phantom power. If the rode video mic worked a powered lav should as to.

@onelonedork Good point! I think you might be on to something here... beats dropping hundreds on a Sennheiser set-up or whathaveyou. Watch, now the manufacturer will jack up the price on those little blue tooth gems.

@dshrode16 Listened to the test results with the lapel mic and it's no good. The signal from the lapel isn't strong enough to run directly into the bluetooth adapter.
