  • This was beautiful, i swear im' addicted to this song because i listen to it over and over. Just can't get enough! <3 I really liked what you did with the Strings/Woodwind section at the beginning section, with the bells still strong in the background. Keep up the good work!

  • @rougefan9 In with the harp! <3

  • GLaD I Bought this game it was THE BEST VALVE GAME EVER

    F@CK YOU BLACK MESA!

  • The harp triplets were a nice touch. Nicely done!

  • Well done.

  • this song (or this version of it) puts the image of a disney movey in my head (or some other cartoon movie) where the main character wakes up and prepares to start his/her day.

  • @kenjitiger Oh good I'm not the only one who thought of Disney!

I was thinking of it being from Epic Mickey.

  • [Redacted]-ly awesome!

  • I am going to immediately learn this for my xylophone.

  • Ones who dislike work for that retched Black Mesa...

  • wow, it's incredibely nice work

  • I hope they don't just drop it after portal 2 tho sooo many othe game companies have done so.

  • do you use a software to get this sound or am i listening to a live recording? if this live, then who is playing it (you, studio musicians, a high school band that you direct, etc.)? when i saw your post on mmo-champs i thought this was going to be on sybalius but i was completely wrong.

  • @dmcross91 Hello. The final rendering of my arrangements of these pieces of video game music that I upload is done using the Vienna Symphonic Library. This is a high quality orchestral sample library that uses midi controllers to render fairly decent sounding representations of people's notation. It's used quite often in creating mock-ups for movie scores, for example.

  • @TimothyMcGaw very interesting, thank you.

  • sounds like hmmmm the sims :S

  • This is beautiful! I'm getting cold chills listening to it!

  • Oh god

oh god this is beautiful lsaf;asbfa

I know what I'm going to have on loop for days now

  • @MarcutioPolonomous Thanks! Glad you like it. :)

  • @TimothyMcGaw dont u mean GLaD lol

  • @TimothyMcGaw You mean "Thanks! GLaD you like it. :)"

  • Portal 2 was the only game I have EVER cried at the end of.

  • @UpperClassSnob It was an awesome game, but why were you crying? It ended on a good note, I thought. :)

  • @TimothyMcGaw

    I cried with joy...

  • @TimothyMcGaw - Wheatley was really pissed off in the final battle, and I actually felt sorry for him while he was ranting about all that stuff. Then, at the end, Wheatley is in space. He's going to be there forever now. Or until he dies in a supernova.

However, a case that's worse than Wheatley's is Pokey from Mother 3. He's inside his Absolutely Safe Capsule forever, there's no in or out in that. Nothing can destroy it as well. Now that's someone to feel sorry for.

  • @TimothyMcGaw I nearly cried knowing that that's the end of the greatest game series (even though it only had to games) ever created

  • Just uploaded 'Still Alive' from the first Portal.

  • pretty fucking awesome man :)

  • I think you should do either "Don't Do It" or "Four Part Plan". This was excellent work, by the way.

  • thumbs up

  • @TimothyMcGaw I like the idea, it sounds rather lovely, but it also sounds a little flat to me. Too mechanical (is that punny? it wasn't meant to be!). If you can manage to get a recording of a live performance of your arrangement, I think it'd live up to the depth it promises.

  • I don't know why, but I didn't like this: even though I have a million classical music pieces in my music collection.

  • @chickenmobile Pure synth'd sound, perhaps? I'd be quite interested to hear it performed by an actual group.

  • This sounds pretty! It sounds like something that would be playing in a happy movie scene near the ending of the film!

  • I like the shit out of this :)

  • Perfect for The Sims!

  • Even though the song is from portal, this style reminds me a little bit of some of the orchestral pieces by Yoko Shimomura from the Kingdom Hearts series, not sure why but it makes me remember those songs.

  • @Tsukuyomi5 Interesting. I shall check it out!

  • @Tsukuyomi5 You're right, this sounds like it could easily fit in Traverse Town or Twilight Town.

  • totally rad!

  • @zmn11111 Like totally, dude!

  • This is awesome!

  • @HaroldAFowls Hey, thanks. Glad you like it. :)

  • @TimothyMcGaw Can I have an MP3 of this? I want to add it to my HLDJ so I can play it and I also want to just listen to it without Youtube in another tab.

  • @HaroldAFowls If you go to listentoyoutube . com and enter the url, it will let you download an mp3.

  • Bassoon doesn't sound right in this arrangement.

  • Sounds... different, that's for certain.

  • @mastermax7 Hi thanks for commenting. Different is pretty much how I wanted it, hehe. On the subject of the bassoon, you mean in the chorus or at the end in the last chorus? I was on the fence about that part myself, but it works in theory.

  • @TimothyMcGaw I think it would've sounded better with something else... Not sure what, though. Maybe bar sax?

  • love it <3

  • haha nice :D like the style :)
