wow get back to the middle you are about to fall off the left and break your legs and I am not paying for it!!!! lol fucking liberal and its of my gosh
aside from the philosophical template of Socialism that I think you and a majority of Americans misunderstand.....I do agree that it is unconstitutional to force citizens to buy goods/services. we (america) are going down. it is happening. and a contributing factor is the "competitive" corporations that have outsourced their manufacturing into other countries where they can force 3rd-worlders to work with little to no pay in unsafe (sometimes toxic) environments........
Albert Einstein and Jesus of Nazareth were huge proponents of the Socialist system.
However, it really does not matter what "ism" a Government uses for a template, as long is there is equality. That is what it is all about. Capitalism encourages constant expansion of the entire class spectrum, thus increasing inequality. Americans avoid considering that altruistic behavior could be part a solution. There is no silver bullet Government template. we just need to stop backstabbing each other.
my question how will we fit 50 MILLION new people into this healthcare plan with no increase (in fact there has been a deacrese) in doctors and other healthcare employees. seems like there would be a 5 month waiting list to even see a doctor.
I live in an ex-socialist country (France) and when I see people comparing Obama to socialism it makes me laugh, these tea baggers didn't even know the word socialism before Glenn Beck and other fascist corporate whores started talking about it, the real problem in the USA is the massive dumbing down of the people.
The truth is that Government doesn't like competition. By simply opening health care across state lines, we could increase competition WITHOUT involving government. As Reagan said, "Government is not the solution to the problem. Government IS the problem."
The majority of people without health insurance are people like me. Healthy 18-35 year-olds who could afford it, but choose not to buy it. We don't need it. What we should look into is CATASTROPHY insurance, not regular health insurance. Obama's plan makes it REQUIRED BY LAW TO BUY insurance. The Constitution prevents the gov't from forcing people to buy ANY goods/services. But now, a person like myself becomes a criminal just becuase I CHOOSE not to buy something.
Personally, I don't believe that people should be forced to buy auto insurance either. If you hit someone, it's nice to have the insurance, but if you don't it would just mean that you'd be responsible for the full amount.
All in all, the numbers a skewed to make it seem like the nation as a whole couldn't buy a bandage for their finger. This makes it a seem like a crisis, and Progressives love to take advantage of a crisis...even if they have to make one up.
Remeber that, before the turn of the century, Norway had universal healthcare and:
1.) Gas cost > $20 per gallon.
2.) You had to be a naturalized citizen or married to one for x number of years to qualify.
America lacks the ability to do these and we can't afford to pay for people who can't (or won't) work for enough to actually PAY taxes instead of recieving a refund..
Well I agree the new system is not socialist. It is in fact corporatist. However I will say (being covered under medicaid myself) MEDICAID SUCKS. The facilities are decrypted, the employees tend to be inexperienced, it's dirty and to save money, small cuts in quality here and there exist. I know it's only my experience and it very well could be different for others. But the point is, I am not impressed with government funded programs.
Demanding the government to get involved or regulating any facet of life is a BAD idea. Americans should really grow some backbone. Also that healthcare bill will add millions of people to the medicare/medicaid system which has swamped many states as it is. To make more people become part of this will bankrupt the states, or the states raise taxes, bankrupt the people, and then bankrupt the states. End solution, The Government controls everything.
You forgot to add in Social Security and Unemployment Insurance. They're forms of socialism as well. Could you imagine in the times that we're currently living in what would happen if the government decided to take away everybody Unemployment Insurance, because it has socialist elements? There would probably be a riot!
DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM (in which the Gov. does NOT own the economy) is the best way to go...
...allows a balance of socialism, and Capitalism...without letting Capitalists exploit workers, or banks to lose money like they did in 2009...simple regulation...
Yeah, the people AGAINST usually don't know what the hell they're talking about. They get their opinions handed to them by Rupert Murdoch's little group of propagandists.
FAUX News:
"Broadcasting your opinion! Brought to you by big business!"
Sadly we live in a country filled with people who hold strong opinions about things they don't understand, asking questions and being informed is for pussy-ass liberals.
Obama care isn't worth shit. Its not worth shit untill its single payer. Capitlaism is the most corrupt system. It corrupts our government and every guy that gets his hand on a mil.
I'd say more but I am sick now and have no coverage cause my dad got laid off.
What's wrong with letting people compete across state lines? Why is a GOV'T Controlled Healthcare system the answer??? Please...NOT FOR ME! If this passes, my company will drop my ass so fast and I will be FORCED onto this crap...NO THANKYOU! I work hard and want MY HC!
Two Points: 1. Public option, although more affordable, does not drive private options out of business. Example: public versus private universities, or US Postal service versus FedEx and UPS. 2. You hear a lot about government take over with public option. It is actually government puppets of lobbyists that make government inefficient. Get involved in your government, vote the puppets out and vote your neighbor or friend in. There is no bad government, there are only bad government officials.
Rationing of care: your current health insurance probably allows a certain dental procedure only x times a year. Like, they will only pay for up to two crowns a year. Or when you get vision care, your health insurance policy will ration which features you're allowed to have in your glasses. Some won't allow featherweight lenses for those with really thick prescription lenses. We've had these things all along.
Democratic socialism is where the basic values of freedom, equality, solidarity, democracy, respect of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, and respect for the Rule of Law can be enhanced and where each individual can live a meaningful life with the full development of his or her personality and talents, and with the guarantee of human and civil rights in a democratic framework of society.
Oh please. All the major socialist states in history, to my knowledge, have been tainted with human rights violation, corruption, and instability. It doesn't "enhance" anything.
Then your knowledge is lacking. Sweden is socialist, Canada also has a form of socialism. Both countries have better human rights track records than the U.S.A.
Socialist policies =!= socialist states. I'm talking about countries like Russia and China where the government owns all the property. Sweden and Canada are both capitalist.
can you name a single capitalist country not tainted with "human rights violation, corruption, and instability"? england?, nope. usa? nope. germany? nope. russian federation? nope. india? nope. australia? nope. ireland? nope. japan? nope. mexico? nope. italia? nope. pre-socialist cuba? nope canada?... um,, who knows ^^'
You want another "ism" comparison? What "ISM" breaks the country and spends all its money on war and defense so the domestic conditions crumble? DOH!! Thank you comrade Bush! (those who want to continue that ISM--go to N Korea)
Why is it the Obama basher want to get rid of Medicare? They want NO PUBLIC OPTION. Medicare is a government OPTION. Old people can buy their own insurance, they don't have to pay Medicare premiums? Why is it the sour grapes want to bash the veterans to kick government out of their healthcare. I find these hacks are not against the message, they are against the messenger.
Why is it this guy gets it. I have a question. You see 75+ year old men yelling I don't want the gov. touching my healthcare. Yelling, READ THE BILL, and that very old fart cannot reat "15 items or less" on the express checkout sign.
People don't really understand the word socialism.. they confuse communism and socialism.. the USSR and Red China are communist..in the way socialism is talked about it would be communism.. socialism would be where a nation owns only the major industries like oil, electricity production water systems etc etc..Sweden has a blend of socialism and capitalism as do most countries even the USA though we hate to admit it.. there are government subsidized hospitals that serve the uninsured poor
But they have so much fun screaming Socialism.... why would you want to take that from them? So many are "just now waking up".... and you're ruining it. haha Well done!
Even though some individuals do not handle their money wisely that is their choice. I don't want the government in my life anymore than it already is. The bill also talks about a 2.5% tax on your income for the year if you are not covered by their standards. The bill also wants to set up a "volentary" program where government agents come to your home and teach you how to raise your kids. The last government program that started as "volentary" was the income tax.
My brother was in the invasion of Iraq. Vets health care sucks. I find your point about rationing interesting. However, you are comparing peoples' socio economic status via what they can afford as rationing. What you are really describing is capitalism. Thus you are making a moot point. We may as well let free markets take care of the whole thing based on your argument, which I think would provide better care in the long run because individuals handle their money better than the government.
My Navy Vet friend recently seeked out PRIVATE doctors for this hip replacement. The VA doctors treated his knees for 15 years turns out his problem was the hip. He's not too convinced that the VA works.
