  • cool music!!!!

  • This grotesque-techno-psychedelic, analog-synthesizer sequence likely would have ranked at the top of my scariness scale (regarding TV idents) if I had seen this as a little kid :)

But, I think it's fascinating, too...and on top of that, I think it really captures the artistic/political ethos of the late-1960s-to-early-1980s period of Western soul-searching for new knowledge paradigms couched within a time of multicultural awakening. It is historically significant especially for these reasons.

  • LOL this totally freaked out my cats last night. :D

  • Cool! I've been looking for this for years!!

  • When I first saw this I was a little kid, probably about 5 or 6, and I didn't like this at all. All of the noise really kind of freaked me out in a way. :(

  • Thanks for posting this! Glad to see I'm not the only one who was freaked out by this title sequence as a kid - forget the "S From Hell", this combination of jagged synthetic music and a chaotic kaleidoscopoic collage was enough to give me the willies as a five year old. Now though I think it's pretty cool; wonder who was responsible for that music?

  • one THE most nostalgic things on youtube for those of us who were pre teens growing up in canada in the 70's to very early 80's

  • What a great treat to see this again, a staple of early morning television for so long!

  • Woah!,Thats a Flashback,I would watch this waiting for"Romper Room"to Come on,didnt understand the concept,...But I remember the french Stop sign in the Kaleidoscope!...

  • @wabankik: Funny you should mention that stop sign, as that stood out in my memory too.

  • @Dudley1970 The noisy synthetic sounds are what I remember the most about this show. Gee I wonder which sadist dreamed up these weird synthetic sounds?

  • Seriously....I was scared to death of this when I was a kid.

I would hide under a blanket 'til this sequence ended...then I came out to watch the Mighty Hercules.

    I miss the 70's!!!

  • Frightened the F out of me at 6 am! I was desensitized To Geoff Stirling's stuff and then that creepy intro/extro!

  • I can't believe you had that...awesome...do you have the intro?

  • The eerie music heard here dates back to around 1968.

  • A terrifying sight to behold!

  • You know...the more I hear this "music" the more I think it ranks right up there with the Viacom "V of Doom" or the Screen Gems "S of Doom"

Its pretty freaky...and I can imagine how difficult it was to put that music together!

  • glad to see it back!!
