I still have a bit of a problem with the natural pageant idea--just that such young girls are thrown into that kind of competition based purely on looks. (And that they also dress like 30-year-olds--I wish it had taken place in something more realistic than a ball gown). BUT, at least it teaches them that natural beauty is valuable and valued, something they'll hopefully learn more as they get older.
@antebellum Most natural pageants also have a larger interview part! So then they're also kinda tested on their knowledge and confidence and language skills:)

LOL smart = nerdy. Go check out some of the girls at my school. Selective all girls school with some of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. Actually the smartest girls are the prettiest imo :)

@loveteajuice There's some logic on your message.I think a girl has to be smart to be beautiful. When you PRAY for her not to open her mouth, that's pretty disgusting. Disgusting and beautiful do not go well together. Also, there's a unique charm about every pretty girl who is smart, while stupid and cute girls are all the same usually.

It's pretty sad if a parent can't instill confidence in their child without covering them in fake eyelashes, toe nails, hair, teeth, tanning etc. Why not enter them in competitions that use their intelligence or creativity etc.

I feel sorry for Meaghan being asked that question, because it made her sound shallow. Seriously, how many people out there would REALLY want to be ugly as shit but smart as Einstein? I'd rather have an average brain but be fucken stunning. Even if she said she'd rather be smart, we'd probably all be thinking 'I'd rather be pretty'. At least she's honest.
