Interesting that in Kuri's films women tend to be the aggressors; "The Human Zoo" is similar in this regard. But even if this isn't your thing, please don't write his entire body of work off based on one film. Try "The Midnight Parasites", a dark animated version of Bosch's hells, for a different side of Yoji Kuri.

Intelligence, wit and efficiency in animation, with a highly individualized style, which was done many years before most of you were even born, and before all the animation you are familiar with was broadcast or put on the web. look at the rudimentary drawings, and that the only color is from two or three generic monochromatic patterns. these people are mostly dead to begin with.
@heishirosama Yes, actually. It's (fortunately) one of the 18 films (which is still a fraction of Kuri's output; I can't help with any others) on the Japanese DVD 久里洋二作品集/Yoji Kuri Film Works. Buyable from the usual outlets of Japanese Amazon, CDJapan and YesAsia and less expensive than many Japanese DVDs. Though still expensive by many other countries' standards.

People can call this art or experiment but it will not change what the cartoon really is: a lazily animated trip that only makes as much sense as you want it to. If I had to judge the animator by this film, there wouldn't be many positive words.
Notice that this is rather festival animation so its approach differs considerably from the usual TV animation or Disney. Here rather content matters instead of form. He won many awards and has made some other more surreal and funny animations.
