Well Bill, why don't you do your fucking homework and blame Bush for setting that very precedent. If you were/are so worried that Obama is going to try and King himself or some shit then you should have come out and voiced your concern when Bush was ACTUALLY making POWER GRABS!!!
In know this might be a little hard to get most people to do, but if we REALLY want to change our nations political situation and put a damper on the two parties blame game we absolutely must vote third party EN MASSE come next year.
Bite the bullet, fall on our swords and vote libertarian or green, or some other third party. This'll get repubs and dems to take a new look at how they operate.
Only a coward or fascist would fail to do so. Otherwise, stop bitching bout the two we keep electin.
And also, I'm sure the libertarian or green party candidate would be flawless at governing. And I'm sure all Americans everywhere would just be okay with whatever the libertarian or green party candidate's policies were.
I don't think the problem will be solved by voting for any party. I think the only way for real change to come about is for the government to fear us again. We need to get angry, and take to the streets. I'm not suggesting violence, but there needs to be some major civil unrest in this country. Stop traffic in Washington DC, block the doors to the Capitol Building...SOMETHING! We need massive, and constant demonstrations...and we need to do it without "asking permission".
Dude, you got it all wrong and obviously don't have a clue about how D.C. works. Do your history and you'll see that 3rd parties take hold after another party has died off.
The Whigs died out and Republicans filled in. Now it appears the Republican party is dying off due to extremism and we will see a 3rd party take over and become the new 2nd party.
I dont know if it can be like that anymore, or maybe it will take 2010.
You would think that by now we would see some republicans switching to the libertarian ticket but the republican party is so die-hard tow the line unlike any party in the past dont you think?
Even ron paul refuses to join the party that hes really apart of in essense and gives credence to this cretins by staying in the repub party.
Agreed! The Republican party should die. The moderate Republicans should start their own party and leave the delusional neocons to rot. As it is the GOP is of no use to the nation and a real threat to democracy and the American way of life.
The Democrats are corrupt, weak and divided, they can never be the abomination the GOP under puppet Dubia, soulless Cheney and their junta was.
Never waste a good crisis? the motto of THIS administration? seriously?
what about 9/11 and the way the previous administration used it? They wrote the book on using a crisis.
they took 1 day and turned it into Guantanamo and other prison camps, War on Terror, Iraq, Afghanistan, Torture, Fear, Dick Cheney(damn that guy's evil), and other various edicts and executive orders that brought us to the mess we are in (i.e. Patriot act).
the annoying thing is this isnt much of a power grab by Obama in that hes only doing everything he promised he would do during his campaign for the presidency. None of this is new to the people that voted for him if they knew what they were voting for like I did. Doesnt mean we agree 100% with him, who can agree 100% with anybody (like I dislike much of his foriegn policy that I am fine with his domestic).
Hes only following what history showed works anyway. Nothing so scary like what bush did
What is wrong with these people?! All they do is relentlessly project the Bush Administration's corrupt policies and character flaws onto Obama's. They're saying the EXACT SAME THING about Obama that the left said about Bush for the past 6 years or so. Absolute two-faced HYPOCRITES!!
I find it ironic that there's no mention of the massive power grab that was engineered by the Bush administration which necessitates the institution of such controls.
You can't capitalize the profits and socialize the debt without any ramifications...

So now Fox gets concerned about Presidential power grabs and crisis exploitation? Their "concern" is about eight years late in coming.
