you tell people to keep up, but you dont know what asio is.. it has nothing to do with "firewire like" and its not hardware in any way shape or form... asio4all does not emulate hardware, merely acts as a middle man between wdm drivers for your actual hardware, allowing you to treat them as an asio driver. asio is basically just letting software take exclusive control of your devices. the reason asio4all doesnt make your onboard work as well is because its not really built to process on its own

@konzeicao if you do not have an actual sound card installed on your computer you'll get this problem cause asio4all does not multi task on audio and fl studio application, if not you need to shut down all your on screen applications e.g windows media player and anything on screen that uses your on-board audio card,then close fl studio and then restart it and you're good to go

Sound doesn't come from the software. Go into Device Setup on your DAW and in the ASIO section select ASIO4ALL. Then restart your DAW and a balloon will appear in the bottom right of your screen saying that ASIO4ALL is running.

eh dilliot2k, I have a Sony Vaio with windows Vista and only a built in mic. I have tried every setting with asio4all that I can think of and cannot get any sound, and cannot get it to recognize my built in mic. How do I disable the Gs Wavetable Synth, and How do I get ANY Sound using asio4all? Please Help Me. The only way I get sound is by using the Primary Sound Driver.

You have to disable GS Wavetable Synth to get output while using ASIO4all. I dont know how to do this yet on Vista. I've been googling for hours now, all I've found out is that in Vista you specifically have to kill the program in the registry, though a convenient option exists in XP =/

If you have no output check this out.

First of all, make sure all software using your soundcard (except the one you are using asio4all with) is closed before turning asio4all on. Also, if your soundcard has some kind of digital audio output, make sure to turn it off in your asio control panel. You do this by clicking the blue on/off button in front of the digital output listed in the asio panel.

Note: any open internet browser pages with i.e. youtube movies will also screw things up, so make sure to close every other open program.

Hi aiso 4 all is crap because the output from m ysound card is always disabled so I cant hear stuff. Also I only have crappy wavesynth GM player and no one will tell me how to install a better free synth thing. They all go on about soundfonts but i cant get that to work as the overall thing and cant load the soundfonts except in sfz but sfz is just like a vst.... DO u need a midi out though or is a midi conroller keyboard and a softsynth vst ok?

No, noone will help you cause you diss indespensable stuff up front and are too stupid to get it to work. You wont be able to play softsynth from a keyboard decently until you get ASIO running.

Then its free choice - SFZ, Synthfont/VST, whatever really.

Otherwise, most Creative Live and Audigy soundcards can process SoundFonts in hardware, and you can get ASIO on the cheaper ones with kX driver - but since you're a moron who can neither read nor write you won't get it to work.

You cant have Microsoft GS Synth and any kind of ASIO (neither professional grade drivers, nor ASIO4ALL) running at the same time - the one which gets started first by chance will block the other. Route your MIDI output into another port or disable it entirely before setting up ASIO. Have all your synth needs handled by VSTis (such as SFZ), and when it's working, switch to ASIO for low-latency operation.

i couldnt get any sound out of my vista laptop, but could my xp desktop using asio4all in fl studio. But i plugged some headphones in and i could then hear fine, i just needed to have headphones in! so give that a try!

Enable WRT Pull Mode with the Vista machine. Vista is the reason that this option is available. I had a similar problem and this worked for me. You will have to play around with the settings as each sound card is different and ASIO4ALL will need to be configured differently for each sound card. If the machine has digital inputs and outputs you might want to disable those as they are not seen properly by ASIO4ALL.

Your Output should also be set to your default computers sound card. Once these steps are completed, CHECK >> USE ONLY DEFAULT DEVICES.

Then open your daw and select your own devices and you will not see not connected.

If your asio drivers say "NOT CONNECTED" Go to control panel >> audio devices. Make sure your choice of midi does not say "MICROSOFT GS WAVETABLE SYNTH" Also Make Sure You have your computers default sound card as the recording device, even if it didn't come with a mic and your not going to use it with your DAW>> (pro tools,Sonar,etc...)

what kind of preamp do you have, dou have the output selected in the Asio4ALL vs 2 Outputs sections, it should be highlighted. Also make sure u get a condenser mic, and make sure u preamp has Phantom Power, otherwise your condenser mic will not work, dont even think about working with a usb mic! i have 1, and i never use it. Just some tips. anybody else reading this hit me up, if your just beginning,

While using asio4all, when i fire up the computer and go straight to FL, the audio outputs fine, only no other audio on the computer works. when i use other audio programs, ie. itunes, when first starting up, FL's sound doesnt work. Any ideas?

Ok, me hard disc fine. I got problem with rtkvhda.sys.

They flaw realtek with write to registry and kernel address overwrite. That why Vista crash.

Need full uninstall registry key to uninstall. Then I is able to put

on again to enjoy.

Deep respect for the Asio4all driver. It simply nails latency. It crash Vista often. I got Realtek HD, a Zoom H4 and Cubase LE. With a USB connection I loose insert/send effects in Cubase. It work fine with a line in to the sound card. A Zoom Cubase problem but with the Vista crash I'll make sure my hard disc isn't failing. Thanks again you've opened up my toys for me. The Zoom is useless without Cubase and Asio4all connects the two beautifully. Superb!!!!!

I have windows vista, and i dont know if thats whats causing the problem. I downloaded the asio 4 all, and it recognizes my microphone and all, but now, with this drive, the output is saying that it's not connected. when i go to the options, audio menue, and click on the 'show asio panel' option, it says that my speakers: Out: 2x 48k Hz. 24Bits, are unavailible; there's a red X next to it. when i click on any other driver other than asio, my speakers are recognized, but the mic isn't.
