  • you cant tell wether some one is going to a pro at a young age. I knew many players that were top 10 in the nation in the 12s and weren't even heard of in 18s or couldn't break into top 100

  • erm wads this??

  • @soccertrik this is utube video

  • actually wow there strokes and techniques are surprisingly similar o.0

  • plz reply

do u guys ova thr give beginner tennis players senior sized rackets like the one she has?????

  • Great tennis player :) but the poor girl needs to smile more :( go do something fun once in awhile :)

  • one hand backhand, henin, mauresmo and graf..

  • That forehand needs some work... tell her to let her arm loose at the end of her movement, after impact.

  • Gawd this girl got great technique.

  • I think the comment you made about "it not being about her being the BEST at 11 but the best later on" nailed a lot of what most people miss about junior tennis... They want to win NOW NOW NOW and not build a player's game around what is best for the future.

  • Female Federer and NO TWEENER??? hahaha

the title of the video works though, i was eager to see what female Federer would be

like. was hoping to see a couple of tweeners.

her footworks awesome. nice video to get some lessons.

  • What's the point of calling her the Female Federer and all this Don King style promotion stuff?

  • @A550RGY I think you are right... I don't think the hype is necessary and it just encourages negative comments so I won't be doing it any more. It did get 35,000 views and a google ad and helps to get people to my website but it's really not worth it to be honest. The Federer thing is a goal though, not to copy him but to be able to play with the variety we see from him or Henin... that was the point, but you're right there is no point to be honest.

  • @tommyenglish1 Fair answer. I'm looking forward to seeing her play in tournaments, but I fear her mental game will always be lagging behind.

  • Great video, she definately has talent! Takes the ball of the rise beautifully and has great footwork! The only thing I felt looked awkard was her forehand at times...it seemed she finished just brushing in front of her face instead finishing over her shoulder, but not every time. Awesome vid, you have definately coached her well! Props and great vid.

  • wow! She is really good! I suggest at her level she should have a racket with a smaller head for more control unless she really likes her racket now... But I'm sorry, all the people on this page commenting are commenting on something realistic and true- it's just sad to see young children like this... 99% of em burn out sadly

  • @tommyenglish1 oh ok looks like you reply to these things hmmm i wanted to know how old she is now and if you can post a match of her against her brother?

  • She is athletic and a very good player, just like hundreds of other girls of her age worldwide. Put her in a tournament and you will find how good she really is. To say that she is the next Federer and future of tennis is a total nonsense. Anyway, good luck.

  • @dg2hotmail Exactly. If I had a nickle for every amazing tennis kid on video who could not compete under pressure against another top kid, I would be rich.

  • @vinevine1000 If I had a nickle for every tennis kid that could compete under pressure but didn't have the game to make it at the top level i'd be richer than you.

  • The only thing that matters is that she stays loving what she does. If she loves every moment of her tennis, she will be on top one day.

  • The only thing that matters is that she stays loing what she does. If she loves every moment of her tennis, she will be on top one day.

  • wtf this girl is only like 10 or 11. when she is 18-20 she will be able to smash the doodoo out of the ball.

  • That is champion quality right there and no doubt a state champion when she enters high school.

  • jason mraz-details in the fabric; i had to think about it for a bit at first

  • She will definetely be at the top of the WTA rankings. No doubt about it. Don't pay attention to those haters, it is just that they either cannot have kids or the ones they have do not have a tenth of the talent she already has. Keep up the good work, don't look to your sides, just keep looking ahead buddy. Congrats!!!

  • @lu5dx cheers mate

  • Very talented and smooth. Is it just me or does that racket look huge compared to her. I mean, it's almost as big as she is.

  • Talking with a marijuana at the strings. What an example!

  • Yes, good form both sides, very efficient, natural movement, plenty of spin and power - too early, though to say if she will go pro :)

  • Yes, good form especially on forehand, very efficient, natural movement, plenty of spin and power - too early, though to say if she will go pro :)

  • Great form, she definately has the potential.

  • she got the footwork .. but thats it

  • If she can develop a strong slice serve playing either right-handed or left-handed, she will have an incredible weapon. She will be able to open up the court from either the deuce side or the ad side. Her great ground strokes will complete the 1-2 punch when the court opens up. She will be nearly impossible to break. I hope you are working on this with her!

  • wow smash with left hand look at 4.15 she smashed with her left hand wow!!! and what a one handed backhand ..........

  • Great talent - nurture it!

  • Is this a piano version of Details in the Fabric? Sounds freakin' awesome.

  • @ColAcoustic yeah :-) its awesome.... good ears!

  • tom, i have never read so much tripe as some of the comments on this video, this girl looks superb to me, amazing shot making in the video where your playing full points,

if there is another 13 year old girl out there coached by one of the super coaches making all the stupid comments then lets see the vids

i wish i could hit the ball like Emira, you look like your doing a top class job to me and shes got a class touch, loads of power amazing all round ability

love what shes doing, more vids!

  • @jamiejarman80 hanks.... yes people are very sad, its amazing to think there are so many haters out there

  • wow its very good for this age !!! but you cant be the next female roger federer .YU havent the KICK . And you are too slow for tennis and your hit are very bad!!!

  • looks like another one of them femalepussyfaggots to me

  • wow, for an 11 year old GIRL to have a solid one-handed backhand... Thats pretty impressive!

  • Es negra...por lo tanto no vale madre.

  • why does he have a wooden racquet?

  • @tommyenglish1

No woman has anything on Federer >.>

Not being sexist but its the truth. Barely any men have anything on Federer.

But, i must say Justine was the closest thing.

  • Definetly she can have the same level of perfection in the technique as Justine Henin in a few years. Love her forehand, single handed backhand! Would love to see many more female players play beautiful tennis like she does. !! Congrats to you both.

  • Wow... she has beautiful stokes.

  • one handed backhand :( - oh well she is amazing anyway

  • SHE CAN USE BOTH OF HER HANDS? THAT'S WHAT I CALL "PRINCESS OF TENNIS" right there! I mean I can too but she is way better! haha... KEEP IT UP HONEY! You're awesome! TRULY! :D

  • .... The female Federer was Justine SORRY !

  • @suvo I think it was Stefanie Graf - at least if you compare the elegance of both of them. Graf and Feder play tennis like ballet... but Justine comes close!

  • Who ever the coach is her swing is carrying th elbow, and most of the arm is making the shot.. the swing looks unnatural so it's not good technique sorry.. Go back to the drawing board!

  • @Bunny926 haha another youtube tennis guru

  • @tommyenglish1 but its tru

  • @Bunny926 shes like 11 years old you fucking tennis pedophile

  • @Bunny926 Please teach me how to make a shot WITHOUT the arm doing most of the work... seriously get off youtube

  • @bjarktron Since you know it.. I should have to tell you now should I?? lolz anyway you can figure that out for yourself.. lolz

  • Hiaz, talented people keep popping out. So jealous of them. is she doing great in her examinations???

  • @ the bobitoman yeah because uk doesn't have any promising young girls coming through do they ! Laura robson junior Wimbledon winner, heather Watson junior us open winner !

  • if shes british, she certainly will not be the future of tennis, sorry that is reserved for eastern europeans and american women

  • @TheBobitoman good job she is American then

  • Hi Tommy just wanted to say great job you are doing with this young girl I wish her all the best for the future. It looks like she has a great attitude and really enjoys her tennis which comes from good positive coaching! I am also a coach in the uk and Just love to see people enjoy the game! Ignore the negative comments from some idiots On here that think they know everything sitting at the computer being negative to anyone they can !

  • good job man.i hope the best for this girl..my only question is how many hours is she practice and if you think you try more than her.i am a coach and i always try to make that question to my self to.unfortunately i never had the chance to train a child who wanted more than me to play like the pros or train like them..

  • great job, keep it up

  • damn she is really good

  • PEOPLE THESE DAYS

if anyone posts a video showing a talented young tennis player, he/she will certainly receive HATE/NEGATIVE comments based on fairly arbitrary aspects of the player's game or blatantly false accusations to the player or the coach.

    You have been warned.

  • @scorchfrost yeah, many people are very sad

  • This girl is going to be burned out by the time she is 14.

  • @mynizzpizz you know nothing about her. She plays less than anyone that is at any academy around the world.

  • @mynizzpizz what are you basing this theory on?

  • This is one thing I hate about tennis players, everyone seems to think they know more than the other person. To many supposed tennis coaches and advance players giving there two cents where it is not needed.

Some of you shameful human beings would have said the same things about Roger or Rafa when they where her age. Just shut it and dream about being half the player she is already.

  • @SportsboxTennis Amen!

  • Nothing personal about the girl. She has a lot of potential with the right coach. Unfortunately she doesn’t have one at the moment but as time goes on I’m sure she will find a qualified professional to pick up the pieces.

  • @tplayer53 hahaha I see you have gone down the road of insults based on nothing. Yeah, its really clear that this girl has had bad coaching lol

  • v promising for 11 years of age - athletic, good technique & obviously enjoys the game to have developed such a convincing left-handed serve... is/was Amira ambidextrous to have such a competent lefty serve? If so, has she switched from a two-handed bhand to a single-hander as it's a shame not to use that left hand for real... keep up the good work.

  • I've been teaching kids tennis for 20 years and see hundreds of talented children a month.

This girl is at best averagefor her age but nothing special. Keep working at it and perhaps in 5 years or so she will be noteworthy.

, I can go to any club and see this

  • Mediocre at best. Obviously you haven’t been to many clubs. Looks like she’s netting most of her back hands most likely from a poor fallow through. I sure hope she graduates high school; she’s going to need her diploma.

Maybe with a good coach she can play some college tennis.

  • @tplayer53 lol you are a jealous hater. There are kids who don't even pick up tennis until they are in high school and go on to play in college. Even if she did suck why would you even make a comment like that. And you say your a coach of 20 years. I sure hope not for your sake.

  • @thegarbageman21 haha well said

  • @tplayer53 everything you said...i would have said myself...i was at evert this year and the talent is extraoridnary....clearly this guy lives in a box or something

  • incredibly talented girl, you should be very proud. it also seems like you have a strong connection with her as a coach which is very important. I wish you both the best

  • her volleys are not great!

She need to get her left hand on her stomach and not away from it!

Looks good and good luck! I hope to ser her on television in the future!

  • its funny cause i would smash her

  • Hey i was wondering what do i have to do to hit a 1 handed backhand . such as what position do i do with my legs, arms..

  • Congratulations and good luck. Calling her the future female Federer might be adding uneeded pressure to her and is still very risky to say IMO though....

  • holy crap she can serve right handed and left handed

  • This is what I learned in motor learning classes as part of my undergraduate in human movement kinesiology. You can probably find journal articles on this subject if you do a search at your local university library. Maybe a boolean search on Medline or psych-LIT for "motor learning and practice and competition" would lead to some articles.

  • the handgrip is like federer's, isn't? same is the backhand

  • Obviously tons of talent. Very pretty strokes. She already has solid control of her technique. I would love to see how she competes.

  • its funny how all the people who say negative comments are sub consciously jealous

  • she's obviously very talented and hard-working. congrats!

  • @bjorncerovsek thank you for your very sensible comment. please subscribe - i will be posting more videos. cheers

  • Top 100??? Gimme a break. LOL

very Average girl. I,ve seen way better...

    reality check!!!

    Don't think u're a good pro bro.

  • Wow...she switched hands on the over-head!

  • omg this is the shit!!!

  • WHAT A BACKHAND!!!!

  • LMAO she's better than I am and I'm 24.

  • she is genius! :-)

  • any tournaments yet? motor learning theory suggests making "practice" time as real as the competitive setting that one is anticipating. matches can still be viewed as practice (with mental coaching/counseling) if your goal is to avoid match pressure interfering with skill development...keep up the good work, Emira!

  • @joesamprerer you have anything i can read on this? where did u get this info from? thanks

  • That's some nice and neatly performed footwork she's got there. 2 side steps and 3 runnings per half court, that's quite good for her height and age.

  • 20 bucks says she never makes it to the top 100.

  • @froggbuster

1000 bucks that she does :)

  • @froggbuster though get what you're talking about, even if she is really talented, there are a lott even more talented. But i have to say i would bring out that 20!

  • The next time someone tells me I hit my BH like a little girl. . . I'll take it as a compliment!

  • The next time someone tells me I hit my BH like an 11yo girl. . . I'll take it as a compliment!

  • is this girl english or french??

  • @guysey1 She is American, why did you you think she was English or French?

  • Those groundstrokes are wonderful, single-handed back on top of that. Hopefully I'm seeing her do well in the future.

  • what's with the unfitting music?

  • @hbpencil because its my video and i can do what i want and i think it fits great, theres plenty of other videos of her hitting without music if you dont like this one.

  • Brilliant! refreshing to see a true young talent being nurtured!

please don't change her natural strokes. leave those natural backhand and forehand as they were gifted. Just work on the serve, the volleys, and, crucially, the mental toughness, which is what will really help her thriving at the pro level.

  • @Cheimerius Thanks. Nothing is her natural stroke, well none of these shots, it took a lot of work to get to here and it's still a work in progress. Subscribe and keep watching her latest videos, thanks

  • is that an adidas raquet?

  • @parkbros Yeah, it's lendls from around 1985 :-)

  • May god bless your teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TOUREabdou wow, that's heavy, thanks I think.

  • Roger Federer's male. There's no female federer, or future federer, or even a before federer - it's okay to idolize, but to brand is kind of stupid and limiting for a great talent. Just saying. Kudos to you and Emira.

  • she definetely has a very nice technique!!! great is is trying to pracitse with the opposite hand as well! not playing any matches though i find as disadvantage and would bet she will not become any great without having any tournament experience. she should be starting to play by now, otherwise it can be too late. do not forget tennis is at least 70 percent mental and not technique! Good job though and keep up the good work

  • She puts in a really good amount of spin.

  • Í prefer to be a little bit conservative with these huge comparisons or complements towards children, female Federer isn't just something easy to say. But that's just personal, I'm not training with her day in day out:)

  • The title is just to attract views I suppose, and I think it wouldn't be an advantage for a little girl to inject the 'Female Federer' attitude.

But she got nice skills, no doubt! And seems to enjoy the game:-)

  • why do you think that it wouldnt be and advantage to have the female federer attitude?

  • Great work! Step outs, crossover recovery steps, shuffle ... nice stroke mechanics! Footwork is the key, as you know!

  • is she american? also i love her service motion! :3

  • yes, philadelphia.

  • that's great! hope she keeps up the good work, truly one to watch. =)

  • thankyou, keep watching and commenting. thanks again.

  • Wow! Great coordination! Reminds me of Justine Henin. Hope to see her on the pro circuit in the future.

  • This is fantastic and I agree with you 100%!!!

I am also an ambidextrous player; you can see my videos on youtube at "ambidextennis".

I taught myself most of this in my 30's and 40's. It is clear to me that girls and women are being disabled by instructors not teaching them the one-hand backhand.

As you say, girls are being rushed rather than developing advanced technique.

Please reply; It would be a pleasure to speak with you. I live in L.A.

    Roger

  • Looks like the Fed-form except for the pinpoint stance on her serve...looks like a champ in development. Good luck and HaVE FuN, Emira!

  • thanks

  • there are many ways to make it to the top.. but 3 things you definitly need: decent technique, good physical condition and you definitly need to be mentally strong.. If one of these things are missing you are in trouble.

Hope you will success with her, and keep it fun..Tennis is still a game!! If you love it and enjoy it, then its makes everything easier.Good Luck

PS: teach her the kick serve, not many girls can do it. many chicks serve a lot of double faults cause they dont know how to do it

  • But the most important thing is that she has to enjoy it, tennis must be fun for her., even more so at her age.. then she will have a decent chance to make it..I have seen Hingis playing matches when she was 7 years old and that was very impressive.I saw RF when he was 12 and that wasnt impressive at all. even with 14 he wasnt great.

  • She is good, no doubt about it. Solide technique, she moves well etc.. But the way to the top is stil very long, you might be a good player when you are 11 but it doesnt mean you will be good with 17 or 18.. Let her play some matches and compete too, its important to learn to win and lose matches, how to compete etc.. its an experience you need to have as a tennis player.

  • Roger love

  • She definitely has a lot of potential. Just don't let all that talent get to her head.

BTW. Where did you get that piano cover of Mraz's Details in the Fabric? I like it

  • don't you think a 11 year old girl should get more power first before she starts playing a one handed backhand?

  • no, technique first, always!

  • in my opinion power is a fundamental basis for the one handed backhand, that has nothing to do with technique. her technique is obviously fine. but what does she do if her opponent has a lote of spin in the strokes and she has to hit above her shoulder. do you think that's still a question of technique? i don't think so. and i think thats the reason why most people learn the twohanded first and switch to the one handed if they are strong enough. (federer, sampras) let me know what you think.

  • you seem to be getting strength and power mixed up. but if her oponent gives her a shot with spin above her shoulder she just needs to get her technique right. I bet schwarzenegger would look like a fairy on a high one handed backhand.

  • yeah, sorry my english isn't that good.

what do you mean by getting her technique right? hitting the ball straight after it dropped?

if the opponent has a lot of spin this could be a bold venure....

  • @germanphil112 better than my german! watch my jumping one handed backhand video, thanks

  • did she hit a lefthanded overhead? wth lol

also federers slice is a bit diferent from hers. more of a downward motion. idk how he hits it like that though

  • This is a good beginning, but there's a long way to go. The grips and the whip on the groundies are similar to RFed. But she's not leaning into the shots and looking for attack angles. Also, her serve doesn't have anything like the upward acceleration RFed uses. No rule against a kid using her legs, is there? Also, there are better backhands to copy.

  • who's backhand?

  • Yea I mean your 100% right. You'd think by 11 she'd be more impressive than this, and be excelling in something other than the fundamentals of the game.

  • Really cool.. Good luck to her.. Her strokes remind me more of Justine henin (Esp. the FH and the BH ) rather than Fed...

  • My pleasure, good luck to both of you. I really hope to see her on the WTA someday.

  • how is she in tournments??? or is she too young to be in one??? i think i would love to to her in an actual match against someonee

  • Comment removed

  • The point he's making is that there's hundreds of thousands of tennis students around the world that aspire to be professional athletes, it's an extremely competitive environment so it's incredibly irresponsible for you to brainwash this girl into thinking that she's the "next Federer" of women's tennis.

  • She has a real pretty and effortless form, on both sides. It's so nice to see a female tennis-player with a beautiful one-handed backhand, instead of the unaesthetic two-hander of the ogres dominating the circuit today.

  • i hope that girl knows she will never be a top professional tennis player. you are just giving her false hopes and false dreams. i guess we will have to see the results

  • you're right she's no hingis, she has the potential to be much better.

These haters need to can it seriously.

Props Tom, you and Emira did (and are doing) great mate. Good to see someone teaching real tennis to kids, not the one dimensional junk prevelant in today's game (especially in women's).

  • thanks a lot mate.

  • she's no hingis...

  • Pretty cool. But I don't think she'll be Federer. Probably a Female Verdasco.
