I know I messed up they do work on laptops. It works perfectly on mine. I love Sims 2 and 3:):) And if you type "Help" (without the quotes) in the cheatbox, it lists all cheats. :)

If you have Sims 2 or 3, type in Help in the cheat console, and it lists all the cheats :) Post this to other videos so everyone knows and doesn't waste their times watching stupid cheat vids when all you have to do is just type in the word Help :)

It did this for me but you have 2 try every day and even try when you are on options

it eventually work for me after a day or so

I have held down Ctrl+Shift+C during gameplay dozens of times, and never once has the console appeared. I've tried several combinations of both Ctrl and Shift keys (shouldn't matter, but tried anyway). I tried it on multiple saves, new games, during different speeds (including paused) and still nothing.

I've tried rebooting Sims 3, and my PC, niether helped. I've also read that I'm not the only one encountering this problem. I'm using a laptop if that matters.

Any suggestions?

Sims games usually NEVER work on Laptops, no matter how good the video cards and MB are. It says on the back of Sims video game Cases.

lol, that's not true at all; I've run all the sims games from laptops just fine. I've been running sims 3 for a couple weeks on my HP laptop without a problem other than the one mentioned. The reason the cheat console didn't work is something unique to HP laptops (the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+C is reserved in HP laptops for another function).

To anyone else having a problem, enter Ctrl+Shift+WindowsKey+C and the problem is fixed.

No it does, im on my laptop now and it works wicked on it, better than my brothers XP Pc . And on the back it says Laptop friendly :)

you're wrong! i have sims 3 and with only 2 memory cards it runs finely on a laptop
