What is so great about Borge is that you don't have to know anything about classical music to get the jokes, but if you do, they are more enjoyable. He played to both audiences. One of the best performers ever, in any genre.
Most fans of Justin Beiber,Lady Gaga and Katy Perry would probably think this sounds quite good. Sorry for being so cynical but we use to play Florence Foster Jenkins as a joke at this music store I use to work in and people regularily came up to us asking who this amazing singer was... no kidding.
@Mystep I dunno about Justin Bieber or Katy Perry, but Lady Gaga was actually a classically trained pianist. She would definitely be able to tell a joke from the real thing.
@Neo21803 It's true that Gaga is classically trained, but Mystep was adressing the fans. So Gaga will understand the joke, but most of her fans won't.
It reminds me of Jára Cimrman, a fake Czech artist. He was present at a Strauss' rehearsal and the four staccatos were played in different chord. Cimrman said: "Wouldn't the A-major be better, Mr. Strauss?" And Strauss find Cimrman's suggestion good and revised the score.
yes, watching someone that makes wrong notes voluntary is quite hilaring . a friend of mine did it at the conservatory with the two final chords of a piece . i laugh just thinking of it !
@nughaga teehee. His piano needs to be tuned. Hahaha. Love this guy.

I love the fact that it sounds so horrible when he hits those keys, and yet, confirmed by the papers that it is right xD

"Joe" Strauss = Leo Strauss. :) Only Victor could pull off a joke like that.
trevotillo 3 years ago 2
I think he refers to Johann Strauss (jr.) who composed this piece of music... Joseph "Joe" Strauss was a baseball player, am I right?
serjozha739 3 years ago 3
Probably... ^_^ I suspected immediately after posting that Levi Strauss was the wrong Strauss (I think he invented blue jeans) so I feel dumb now.
trevotillo 3 years ago 4
...and *Leo* Strauss, erroneously first cited, was a political philosopher. I guess my ADHD is showing. :)
