I'm so sorry you played this game all the way through. I bought this at K-Mart one day 16+ years ago for 99 cents. I played some of the stages for a few minutes before I said fuck it and threw the game in the trash. I then went back to playing Hardball III. You're a brave man.
And so I find out this stage looks like a Pipe system with Leaking Radiation deposits and underground balconies. Then the boss looks like the MM9 girl boss who is combined with the cyclops from Spongebob Squarepants Movie. Underwater, of course.
You can climb up some of those pipes. That's how you get the E-tank at the beginning. I don't remember how I first figured that out, but it took a while.
I double-checked, and you have to jump to the right off the platform you first land on in that room in order to even be able to grab onto the pipes. You can't just climb up from the platform below. This makes it even harder, of course.
How could they screw up so bad, this is a 16 bit mega man, were as the awesome mega man games were 8 bit, this just makes Nintendo all the more awesome.
Brings back a lot of memories. I was primarily a PC gamer back then, as I was all through the '90s, didn't much care for this game. Maybe they should've had Mega Man take on Dr. Proton.
when i was 6 years old at my birthday my uncle just came with a huge box full of DOS games and the machine. some games were worth playing such as doom but in the bottom of the pile i found a floppy that says ''MEGA MAN'' (and due to my wonderful moments with the snes megaman x games) i thought that this game will go great but.......well...... you get the picture. -_-
Heh, now that you mention it, I have a vague memory of getting frustrated and confused when I first played too. Maybe if it didn't take a thousand shots, or if there was some indication that you could/were supposed to shoot through it...
This is like the worst game ever made. Holy shit. I've never seen anything so horrible. I give you many props for even attempting to play such a piece of shit.
Very odd. Considering the PC was far more powerful than the NES, you'd think they'd come out with a superior version instead of this abysmal re-make. One of Capcom's more puzzling choices.
I remember I had this one when all my friends had the real ones on the NES. I was so jealous. This would be a good one for the Angry Video Game Nerd to do a video on.
I had this game back in the early '90s. As a big Mega Man fan, I was disappointed. Years later, I thought I was just playing some home-brewed video game that my parents picked up at a PC store. Shareware was common back then. So, I come to learn that others had the game too? Funny thing is, my copy was simply on a floppy disk (or maybe it was multiple) with "Mega Man" written in marker on the front. Now that's high budget.
Especially amazing considering this was a licensed game based on a pretty successful franchise!
This came out back in the day when just about anyone could send a demo to, say, Epic Mega Games and have them professionally published nation wide. Even though this game was distributed by Hi-Tech Expressions, I wouldn't be surprised if it was something similar since only one name is listed in the credits.

Who knew that a sound-braking Crappy adaptment to quickman would have a stage that looks like a giant kitchen?

I swear that expression on Mega Man's face in the boss selection screen just screams "I hope nobody's gonna rape me."

I bet this is what Mega Man would look like if it was made in America.

Okay, so there's nothing else sonic in the level.

Sonic Man?! With that name, you'd think he'd be a Quick Man wannabe. But he's a Bubble Man wannabe instead!
I'd only play this game if I got to destroy it with a volley of Metal Blades afterwards ^_^

The only thing that they did right is the unfair level design, and even that's a stretch.

It was licensed by Capcom! The fact that they don't acknowledge it today though speaks volumes, I think.

No, I know Capcom licenced it. I just wondered how they'd feel of the horrible grpahics of it. And isnt "Megaman"one word enough instead of 2 words?

Just watching this video makes me hate this game already.
The sad part is, I owned the game...got it bundled with Street Fighter 1 and 2 for DOS.

Just out of curiosity. I don't know how much informed about these licensed games you are, but in case you didn't know, there never was any MM2 DOS.
I readed, on the first site I learnt about this 'games' on, that the second game out of three came in package with Street Fighter games.
Do you have/had it perchance?
