Awsum video. Sure is diffrent rigging in Texas as compared to Alberta. No B.O.P.s and no coveralls. Up here that would be grounds for the rig to get run off.
The no B.O.P.'s is very rare. A lot of rigs don't run them on the East Texas Woodbine wells because the field is watered out and has minimal bottom hole pressure.
What's. The deal with Foster tongs? Is California the only place that runs BJ's? I tell you what I've seen some slips get fuckin cratered tripping in on deep holes I would hate to think what might happen to the old twisties !!!! (In Cali we don't care if she never single out

Just curious - why is the floorhand swinging the elevators when the operator starts back up the derrick with the blocks?

So when the blocks get to the top, they will be a little bit closer to him to latch onto the pipe on the move.
